The South African Football Association (SAFA) schools programme gets underway this coming weekend on the 16th of April 2016 when the inter Local Football Associations (342) (LFA’s) are expected to start with a tournament in all the 52 regions, catering for the U/13 and U/17’s both boys and girls. The league system for the two age groups is expected to start next Wednesday on the 20th of April 2016.Last week SASFA also announced the extension of their sponsorship with McDonalds for the next three years to add another sponsorship renewal with Coca Cola. The Motsepe Foundation, SASFA will sponsor the U/19 tournament with Nestle focusing on the U/13 boys and girls tournaments at primary schools level.Meanwhile, the comparison between football and netball could be a bit unfair given how big the game of billions is but it’s also fair enough to hear how does Netball South Africa deals with schools netball, Motsepe says that’s why he’s focusing on these two sporting codes whose grassroots programmes covers a broader base.
