What may impress us does not empress Jesus. In this text on the side of mountain Jesus responds to the allure of the Temple. He is not impressed. He speaks to its coming demise and in response, his followers ask for a sign. Jesus instead gives them something better, discernment. Then he tells them what is truly impressive.
