Here’s a straight to the point fact of life: rumors, hearsay and gossip damage your culture. Everyone knows this is true, and yet the cycle perpetuates. That is why it is important that as a manger you do not condone or participate in this behavior. Stirring the rumor mill is a lot like the telephone game; by the time the story gets to you, it has been completely distorted and has lost any basis of truth that it may have had. So, what are you going to do about it? After all, rumors and gossip are inevitable and impossible to eliminate. The best way to have it end with you is to stop the cycle: DON'T SHARE IT! Another key piece of advice to keep in mind is to always speak positively about those note present.
