Our neighbour died of cancer a couple of weeks ago. As far as I could tell she was about my age and it happened pretty quickly. I didn't know her well but I liked talking to her and she brought apples and herbs round from her garden from time to time.

This is music for quiet contemplation. Elegies and requiems often seem to be all drama and big emotions. I wanted to make something gentle for quiet thinking about those who have gone now.
