Political parties in KwaZulu-Natal have engaged with members of the blind and deaf community to hear about their daily challenges. Leaders from the ANC, the ACDP, the DA, the MF and the NFP faced questions on job equity, voting arrangements and healthcare access among others. Sixty-five percent of deaf South Africans are currently unemployed. Deaf SA's Odette Swift says the issue of accessibility does not start and end at the front door.
