The release of matric results can be a trigger for depression and anxiety in students, and in some cases may lead to suicidal thoughts. The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) has also noticed an increase in matric learners seeking assistance, and urges students to reach out if they are feeling overwhelmed.
