The ANC says it will welcome any probe into whether the pay-channel MULTICHOICE engaged in corrupt and unethical conduct to influence government policy over digital migration. This follows damning revelations that MULTICHOICE executives sought to pay the SABC 100 million rand and the GUPTA owned TV network ANN7 allegedly in exchange for its political influence over government's position on set-top boxes. Yesterday, the ANC sub-committee on Communications and Battles of Ideas presented an update on a discussion document focusing on media transformation ahead of the December 16th national elective conference.
