Truckers Association of South Africa president, Mary Phadi has emphasised the importance of regulating the industry amid the association's call for an urgent reintroduction of operating licences in South Africa. This follows an agreement that industry stakeholders signed with the Road and Freight Inter-Ministerial Committee at the weekend. The Road Freight Association, a signatory to the agreement, has since defiantly stated that it will never agree with the proposed licenses.
