Suspended Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille's disciplinary hearing is underway in the city today. She is facing charges of misconduct. The DA is alleging that she covered about maladministration. She is also alleged to have solicited a bribe from a company manufacturing fire extinguishers. De Lille has vehemently denied the allegations against her and says she will clear her name. She also wants the proceedings to be open to the media as she fears that she might be prejudiced if that does not happen. Our reporter Chris Mabuya is monitoring developments.
