The State of the Nation Address (SONA) will be taking place next week as planned. This has been confirmed by Parliament during a media briefing in Cape Town this morning. This comes as Opposition parties call for the postponement of the event until Zuma has been removed. The ANC has come out publicly to say that Zuma's removal is being discussed by the party. Speaker of the National Council of Provinces Thandi Modise says Parliament has no power to tell Zuma not to address the National Assembly.
