EFF members and security officials at Groot Marico in the North West have clashed as president Jacob Zuma unveiled a monument at the site where he and other activists were arrested in 1963. EFF members and supporters wearing their red regalia forced entry, insisting that the unveiling is not an ANC event, but a government one, and that everyone should be allowed to attend. The monument is in the route that anti-apartheid activists used when exiting the country going into exile. Our reporter Lucas Mothibedi is at Groot Marico.
