An urgent application by suspended Director-General of the Home Affairs Department Mkuseli Apleni has been struck off the roll. Apleni is challenging his suspension which came into effect last month, saying it's unconstitutional. Minister Hlengiwe Mkhize did not provide reasons for the suspension but has since been calling Apleni dilusional, while Apleni believes that his suspension was a ploy to remove him from the department so that the minister could interfere in current legal matters involving South Africa's richest family the Oppenheimers and her son Sizwe.
