African Union Observer mission Chairperson former president Thabo Mbeki, says the voting process in the Kenyan elections has been balanced and fair. Mbeki was speaking during a media briefing in Nairobi today. Kenyans cast their ballots on Tuesday in a much contested election which saw rivals opposition leader Raila Odinga and the incumbent Uhuru Kenyata square off. Mbeki says the elections were peaceful and that there was no deliberate attempt to prevent voters from casting their ballots. Mbeki also had a meeting with opposition leaders to discuss concerns about possible vote rigging. Opposition leader Raila Odinga told the media yesterday that the electronic voting system had been hacked. Mbeki says they have encouraged all stakeholders to work together in order to address any concerns brought forward.
