The South African Reserve Bank has launched the Monetary Policy Committee Schools Challenge in Pretoria. Learners will be given an opportunity to become central bank governors for a few months setting policy and analysing markets. The programme aims to empower learners who study economics and maths at schools. It was first tested in Gauteng and will now be rolled out countrywide. Our reporter Maluti Obuseng was at the launch.
