Former Hawks boss Berning Ntlemeza has reportedly assumed his duties at the Hawks office in Pretoria. Ntlemeza reported for work this morning though the State Attorney earlier wrote to Ntlemeza, emphasising the minister's decision for firing him and ordering him to stay away. Ntlemeza's lawyers argue that he has the legal right to remain in office pending an appeal of a high court judgment setting aside his appointment as unlawful.
