The chairperson of Parliament's Communications committee, Humphrey Maxegwana, has set out the criteria for candidates to be appointed to the SABC interim board. The communications committee met this morning to discuss the way forward. This as a parallel process is underway in an ad hoc committee where the SABC board's fitness to hold office is investigated. Board members resigned one after the other before and during the sitting of the ad hoc committee. The last remaining non executive board member - and chairperson - Mbulaheni Maghuve, resigned late last year. Maxegwana says it is important that those appointed to the interim board, must be highly competent.
