The office of the Secretary to the National Assembly says there is no legislation or rule that requires the head of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate to seek clarity from the speaker before returning to work. This comes after Police Minister Nathi Nhleko said he has advised the suspended head of IPID Robert McBride to ask National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete where he should report for duty.
