Voting is underway in some polling stations in Vuwani in Limpopo, as Co-operative Governance Minister, Des van Rooyen and some MECs are in the area to monitor the process of voting there. Students at the North West University on the Potchefstroom campus are among the 75-thousand potential voters in the Tlokwe Municipality. The IEC in the province has reported that the Potchefstroom campus has over five-thousand registered voters. Meanwhile, scores of people will not be able to cast their votes in Marikana in the North West today, as they are registered elsewhere in the country. In Kwa-Zulu Natal- the IEC has dismissed the entire Ward 94 electoral staff at KwaMakhutha in the Ethekwini Municipality including the presiding officer and his deputy after irregularities were discovered in the special votes process. The staff at a ward in Dundee in northern KwaZulu-Natal have also been removed for a similar offence.
