Crime Statistics have shown that murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstance, common robbery and theft out of motor vehicles increased over the past year while sexual offences decreased. There has been almost two thousand violent community protests in the country over the 2013/2014 financial year. This has been revealed by Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega in Pretoria during the unveiling of the national crime statistics.
