The Zimbabwean government has launched a five-year School Health Policy to address the immunisation gap and control disease challenges among school-going children.

While implementation of some of the factors of the policy started in 2015, government was yet to secure funding for the policy to be launched.

According to the new blueprint, Zimbabwean schools would be used as a pivotal point in reaching out to children, while offering cheap and free vaccinations for communicable and non-communicable diseases.
