There is an ugly picture developing, and I am not at all sure anyone is seeing it. Let’s start with the host’s interview of DJT on April 4. Far and away the most interesting thing Former President Trump said, even if the media largely ignored it was, concerning uncontrolled immigration:

HH: What do you think the Chinese nationals are doing? You don’t get out of China without permissions, according to Secretary Pompeo. And there might be one or two can slip…

DJT: No, they’re probably building an army. They’re probably building an army from within. I mean, you look at what’s happening, because they’re very healthy young men for the most part. And it’s up to over 30,000 now. That’s a lot of people. It’s up to over 30,000.

That makes sense if you think about it – why invade en masse if you can rot a country from within?

But the Chinese are not the only one’s playing this game, in point of fact they are far more stealthy and perhaps behind the curve of others trying the same thing. Remember back just after the hideous attacks on Israel of October 7 when. A Jewish man, counter protesting a pro-Palestinian protest was murdered. I speculated at the time, and was eventually proven right, that the murderer was an Islamic immigrant. I based my speculation on the fact that Americans are just not naturally that violently antisemitic. To be certain there are a lot of Americans that like to whisper about “the Jews” and blame Jews for their own misfortune, but there is a wide gap between racial/religious resentment and actual violence.

Now let’s fast forward to just a few weeks ago and the “Death to America” chants in the Detroit area. The lack of response to this incident was widely commented upon, but at the same time, no one was terribly surprised. After all, Dearborn (suburban Detroit) has a large population of immigrant Muslims. Even years ago, the area was well known for its enclave of polygamist Muslims. I am not at all sure “Give me your tired, your poor, / Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” is intended to include people that wish to destroy the freedom they yearn for, but here we are.

Now let’s come forward to the weekend just past. Both Yale and Columbia suffered under near riots, if not actual riots, that were loudly pro-Palestinian that called for the destruction of Tel Aviv, resulted in property damage, desecrated the American flag and worst of all injured at least one Jewish student. Which takes me back to the murder last fall in California. Where did the mob energy to do this come from? The average American college student would rather drink heavily, play video games and occasionally study. Someone had to work them up into this lather.

Well, our California murderer was a community college teacher, so one has to imagine, particularly given how lax our border security is, a few of our premiere universities have hired a few Islamic, antisemitic, professor provocateurs. Further given how easy it is to get a student visa and how obsessed our Ivy League institutions are with diversity, they have to have a few students more interested in inciting these riots than completing their studies.

Not calling for police state tactics, but there is also “nothing to see” here. I’d like to know that there is at least one person or agency investigating the possibility.

It may not seem related, but let’s turn to the story of the beating of a twelve-year-old girl in an Orlando Florida middle school. Despite the fact that the attack was recorded and placed on social media, the school and police at first turned a blind eye claiming:

Hall said officials initially claimed the girls told them it was just ‘horseplay’ and there was no crime because there was no victim.

‘For us to establish the crime of battery occurred, there needs to be a victim, and all of the parties interviewed said the same thing: That they often “play fight” throughout the day at school,’ the sheriff’s office said on Thursday.

Now, anyone with half a brain knows what was happening here. The attackers have friends, and the victim knew (knows) that if she admits to the attack and her attackers are adequately punished, her beatings will only worsen at the hands of her original attacker’s friends. Officials are now at least paying attention, but only after the victim’s mother took it all to the media (don’t watch the videos unless you have a strong stomach), but they are still cranking the wheels of bureaucracy at an immensely slow, and in this case unjust, pace. One is forced to wonder if the gang of girls involved is not connected in a fashion to a wider criminal gang that has intimidated both the school administration and local law enforcement.

In both of these situations we have schools and law enforcement laying back when they have a clear duty to deal with situations. In both situations one must wonder if there are not broader and far more heinous forces at play. Are we really down the rabbit hole of being “non-judgmental” and “tolerant” to the point that we can stand by and simply watch property destruction and violence, not to mention anti-American sentiment?

Last Tuesday I wrote of the inherent lack of courage in our response to the traffic shutdown pro-Palestinian protests of a week ago. But I am beginning to wonder if there is not more at play here than simple cowardice.

Timely update: As I write, news has broken that Columbia has cancelled on-campus classes and gone remote in light of the “chaos on campus.” Thus the protesters win – they have conquered the campus.

This is not tolerable. It is simply not. We are rotting from within. Perhaps it’s the infiltration of provocateurs as both the former President and I have speculated, or perhaps we are doing this to ourselves, but either way, we are rotting from within.

What I fear most of all is that if our officialdom, school administrators, university officials and police, do not deal with the rot, private citizens will. (Maybe should as Sen. Tom Cotton hinted last week.) The solution to chaos is not more chaos, but when government fails….

ADDENDUM (A couple of hours later): Yale, at least, seems to have come to its senses.
