Jesus said:

Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.

That’s what we remember this weekend – people that loved this nation, loved us, so much that they died in our defense. We live in an age when the military is ill-considered by many, where war presumes barbarity and people would just as soon ignore its reality. That’s not this nation, that’s not the United States. We do not start wars, but we do finish them – and when we do, we do so out of love of country and our fellow Americans. Not out of malice or evil, but out of love. This weekend is about loss and love. Let’s put the nonsense aside this weekend and focus on that.
