In the host’s Tuesday Fox column, written even though he is on vacation, the host said:

The American Left is nothing if it isn’t ruthless in its drive for political power.

Coming just a sentence after he accused Pelosi, Obama, Harris and “The American Left” of a coup those are truly frightening words. It has me thinking.

Most certainly as many pondered yesterday, the race card is; henceforth, going to be front-and-center of this campaign – at least if the Democrats have anything to say about it. But then I pointed that out, albeit it somewhat obliquely, on Monday when I noted Harris was using Eric Holder to vet her VP candidates. But I don’t think rerunning the Obama playbook is going to work this go around – it’s a different country now and we’ve had an African-American president – the glamour is gone. The gender card is probably a better play, but only if Hillary decides to play gender victim to Trump, which does not seem likely.

To me the real question is, in the face of the ruthlessness on display to date and that unquestionably lies in wait for us, how do we respond? I found it fascinating this morning that Morgan Ortagas and Mary Ketherine Ham declared the Harris/Willie Brown affair off-limits, as have many others on our side of the aisle. To be clear, I have no truck with any of the unfortunate epithets that have been attached to Harris in light of the affair. That is conduct unbecoming.

But given the ruthless nature of Harris’ pursuit of power, one must ask how far she is willing to go to get it. An affair of “the heart” hardly seems out-of-bounds if knifing Joe Biden in the back isn’t. The point is – I don’t care all that much about who Harris slept with and when, but I do care about putting a person into the White House that would stoop to anything untoward to get there.

I also know that bringing up sexual conduct in this cycle is a two-edged sword, given Trump’s history. But as I discussed yesterday, there is not a hint of subterfuge associated with Trump’s affairs – Harris is an entirely different can of worms.

One of the most beloved characters in the history of professional wrestling is Eddie Guerrero. His gimmick was “Latino Heat” and his willingness to do anything to win – anything. Hence his entrance music “Lie Cheat Steal.” He is so beloved because all those that knew him knew he was the very opposite of his gimmick – a sweet, lovable, family man. (I ended up on an airplane with his wife some years ago, and despite Eddie’s battles with addiction, the love was quite plain.)

In Kamala Harris; however, we are dealing with the precise opposite – someone quite willing to lie, cheat, and steal their way to the top while pretending to sweet innocence. There is nothing to love there.
