New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on corruption charges. Looks pretty bad. FoxNews is speculating it is “political retaliation” for his criticism of the Biden administration’s management of the border. Politically motivated prosecution? From this DOJ?! Nah – it couldn’t be. (He said in a heavily sarcastic tone.) But as long as we are speculating…

This Biden/Harris DOJ is, in fact, quite prone to lawfare as we have seen regarding Donald J. Trump. The Obama/Holder DOJ was also quite prone to leaving crimes unprosecuted when it suited their agenda. When it comes to recent Dem administrations, the use of the Justice Department in pursuit of political aims seems pretty routine. Which makes it fair game to wonder and speculate about political motivations regarding this particular headline grabbing indictment.

It should also be noted that the Democrat Party in this particular presidential race has already proven itself to be willing to go to almost any length to try and win. They unceremoniously have thrown a sitting president on the scrap heap of history. Biden’s old-man-sitting-on-the-porch stubbornness complicated things and there is very little I have ever agreed with in his political career. But he is POTUS and deserves better. This party has produced a replacement candidate from thin air without benefit of anything resembling democratic process. It is hard to imagine what they won’t do. All this, again, fully justifies speculation.

Now, to be fair, the evidence against Adams seems pretty damning. There is little doubt in my mind, based on what it publicly available, that he is very guilty of the crimes he has been accused of. That’s not the question. The question is why now, and in fact why at all, given that so many crimes have been overlooked by Democratic prosecutors in the recent past. Well, I think FoxNews’ speculation answers the question of “Why at all?” But the “Why now?” question remains open.

Well, given the vacancy that is currently the White House, the administration needs to be seen doing something. Given the void that is the Democratic candidate’s campaign, they would just as soon prefer people not look at them too hard – they need a distraction. So why not throw the mayor of NYC to the dogs? I mean if they can do it to Biden, Adams is child’s play. They also gain some much-needed cred to appear to be going after one of their own. You’ve heard of the “October surprise?” Let’s call this the “September distraction.”

Harris’ latest faceplant of an interview demonstrates, once again, that if Harris has a chance it lies in looking anywhere but directly at her. Honestly, the legacy media is working its butt off to try and get this woman elected and she manages to blow it at every opportunity. Oprah Winfrey could sell refrigerators to ~~eskimos~~, er, excuse me, “indigenous people in the northern climes,” and even she could not get Harris over. (Quick aside – I had no idea the term “eskimo” had fallen out of favor, but as I typed it my spellchecker tried to wave me off. A little research and I find that because the term does not adequately distinguish between the various arctic tribes it is now considered pejorative. Just another reason to be suspicious of AI.)

I expect the Adams coverage to be huge, absolutely huge – way outsized to the scandal proper. Ignore it. Watch Harris and watch Trump. They are the essential question of the time – Adams is a distraction.
