Dupoyet’s charm never loses steam. Her speaks in breathy, exuberant waltzes. Her characters are people of unimaginable passion. They fight for both what they love and their own sense of dignity and identity. It’s easy to imagine why Dupoyet might be attracted to such figures. She is made for the intimate storytelling confines of the Avignon off. Her passion never falls into the discomfort that comes when an actor appears to be performing for the back of a Broadway house. Instead, she fills the space with her storytelling.
