This is a difficult season, no doubt. Many are asking how do we find strength to stand in days like these? Habakkuk 3 gives us a 4th way to stay rooted in God during times of chaos and struggle. WORSHIP. With our worship, we demonstrate our faith and trust in God and are able to lean on His strength. So turn up that praise music and allow others to see where you are rooted.
Continue with Pastor Ray as he walks through the book of Habakkuk and teaches that there is strength to stand when we are rooted in God. In chapter 2 of Habakkuk we find 5 woes that God says can wreck our lives. While God is a gracious God, He is also a God of justice, and we see that there are consequences to wrong actions. Will you listen to the warnings in Habakkuk 2 and stay rooted in God?
Wait...it's not a word that we like to hear. We want answers now, and we want to see action immediately. Waiting is hard, especially when we are hurting. The prophet Habakkuk sees pain and destruction all around him. Chaos is everywhere. Yet God asks Habakkuk to wait. Is God asking you to wait as well?
The ancient prophet, Habakkuk, witnessing the evils around him, wrestled with God's seemingly indifferent attitude. It was an offensive contradiction to His holy nature. Habakkuk decided to get alone and wait for his mind to clear. God revealed His plan and gave Habakkuk a fresh vision — hope beyond his despair.
We all face the moments when our faith is tested. But in these moments of doubt, we find our strength in Christ. Rooted and built up in Him, we stand strong, unwavering, like a tree firmly planted. We hold fast, trusting His promises. God is our refuge and our fortress, rooted in His unfailing love.
The book of Habakkuk reminds us that no place is too dark, no wall too thick, for God's grace to penetrate in a powerful and life-affirming way.
Join us for the final sermon in the series where we ask the question, what if we discovered something so powerful it would literally take us places we have never been before. The Gospel of Jesus Christ transforms our lives, our relationships, our mission, and today we see that it brings hope even in the darkest of times. In the book of John we learn that followers of Jesus have hope and help others to hope. Do you have the hope that only Jesus can give?
Zacchaeus was not well liked in his time. He cheated his own people for his gain. But Jesus noticed Zacchaeus and he didn't walk on by. Instead he pursued Zacchaeus just as he was. Friend, you are pursued by Jesus. He notices you. Not because of anything you did, but because of the beautiful gift of grace.
Pastor Ray continues the sermon series with a look at how our relationships can be transformed by the Gospel. Pastor Ray wraps up the Brave series in Esther 10. Mordecai and Esther, along with the Jewish people, have experienced very challenging times. God has saved his people from destruction and now Mordecai is experiencing new power and success. This final chapter shows us how Mordecai, a humble and godly man, handles this new found position. What can we learn from his example? How do you respond in times of blessings?
Edict = according to google it is an official order of proclamation issued by a person in authority. Sounds serious, right? In Esther we learn of the terrifying edict to destroy the Jews. But what about in your life right now? Have you proclaimed any edicts for yourself? Good edicts like, if I get the promotion then I am successful. Or bad edicts like, if I fail at this endeavor then I am horrible. Did you know that God is able to reverse even the most powerful edicts? He did this for the Jews, saving an entire nation of people, and He wants to do it for you.
Join Pastor Ray Green as he continues the series Brave, the story of Esther. In this sermon, Pastor Ray picks up the story in Esther 5-7 as the king has a sleepless night that results in a complete course correction for the Israelites, ultimately saving God's people from destruction. God's plan is sovereign. It cannot be destroyed. Do you trust in God's plan for you? What would happen if you took your questions and worries to God and then trusted in His ability to handle it?
What does scripture say to us about how to handle times like this? How should we respond to difficult seasons in our lives? Join teaching pastor, Ron Edmondson, as he takes a look at what God says to the Israelites during a challenging time in Isaiah 30. God gives the Israelites a recipe for how to handle difficult seasons, but unfortunately they aren't willing. What about you? What are you going through today? Fears. We all have them. Some are big; some are small. The same is true for all fears: faith can see us through. Chapter 4 in the book of Esther opens with a fear that seemed insurmountable. Can you imagine living your life with the knowledge that a day was soon to come when you and all your people would be killed? This is the reality that Esther and Mordecai were living in. Esther soon learned that fearful circumstances invites fearless faith. Do you, like Esther, have fearless faith?
History is marked by stories of people who do heroic things based on their convictions. We love good movies, documentaries and books about people who stand up for their convictions and as a result impact many others for good. In the book of Esther, chapter 3, we see Mordecai's convictions and, as the book unfolds, we learn of the impact it has on his people. In Mordecai, we see that BRAVERY is born out of our convictions.
WORRY & FEAR, it invades our thoughts and feelings daily. Does anyone care about me? What will people think? Does my life matter? In this first sermon of the new series, Brave, Pastor Ray Green takes a look at a group of people from the Bible who know all too well what it means to worry and be afraid. Join us as we study the book of Esther and learn how Esther's trust in God leads to bravery in the midst of fear.
Are you working overtime to win God's approval? The truth is there is nothing you can do to make this happen. Instead, God sent His son Jesus to die on the cross to take away the debt we owe from our sin. Our debt has been paid for us. However there are ways that you can grow closer to our Savior. We throw the word HOPE around all the time. "Hope it doesn't rain." "Hope I'm not late." "Hope he saw my text." But in truth, many of us have thrown out hope altogether. Is this you? Have you given up on having hope? Psalm 42 is a song of lament and despair. But while God's word recognizes these dark moments, it also has much to say about where are hope is found. Will I survive? Will my marriage survive? Will my finances survive? Will my kids survive? Many of us are spending too much time worrying. Paul addresses worry very clearly in his letter to the Philippians. Join us as Pastor Ray wraps up the series Joy/Full and takes a deep dive into what the Bible says about worry and what we are to do in place of it.
Many of us are spinning our wheels day after day chasing after a joy that we can never quite catch. However, it’s not our achievements that help us attain the goal or even our past failures that keep us from the goal. Instead, our perseverance in our relationship with Christ is what helps us to realize the joy we can find in Jesus. Join Pastor Ray as he continues to walk through the book of Philippians and Paul’s teachings on joy.
In a world where our resume determines our value, ask yourself what resume you are using to gain acceptance from God. Has it worked? Has it brought true joy? Unfortunately, it's never enough, is it? Praise God that He doesn't see our resume, but instead the resume of Jesus! Thankfully it doesn't depend on me but on what Jesus did for me.
Is your joy buried? Have your current circumstances taken your joy away? Paul writes 19 times in the book of Philippians about joy during a time in his life when most of us would struggle to even say the word. How can that be? Join us as we take a look at four attributes of true joy and learn more about the joy that can only come from Christ.
Self-centeredness is an invisible enemy that is rooted in our constant search for joy, and we each struggle with it. But Paul demonstrates, in his letter to the Philippians, that being selfless transforms us. It changes me and it changes my relationships. Today's message follows Paul as he gives us the perfect model for complete selflessness...Jesus.
As we continue to walk through the book of Philippians, we see that Paul was not discouraged in his joy despite everything around him. Do you want that kind of joy in your life, joy that isn't shackled by your circumstances? Join us as we learn to follow Paul's example and fix our focus on the good things of God where we will find joy.
What is stealing your joy today? Fear about your future? Stress over work? Health worries? Join Pastor Ray Green as he takes a look at Paul's letter to the Philippians, written at a time in his life when most of u s would feel no joy. In Paul's letter, he speaks repeatedly about the source of his joy. Learn about the unshakable joy that you can have built on an unshakable God.
We are trapped, many of us without even knowing. But God has provided a door, a way out. Jesus says, "I AM THE DOOR." Join us as Pastor Ray Green wraps up the I AM series with a look at John 10 where Jesus tells us He is our rescue. Who among us does not need His rescue, His way out? He is I AM.
We are not called to just survive but to thrive. In John 15 Jesus says, "I AM THE VINE." What does this have to do with our ability to live the full life God intends for us? In this message, we learn how as branches we can thrive when connected to The Vine. Are you thriving today? He is I AM and He wants you to thrive.
Are we going to be okay? The disciples asked the same thing of Jesus when He told them He was leaving. Jesus gave them the answer, "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE." Today's message looks at how Jesus' response answers our desperate question, that He is our way to being okay. He is I AM.
When things seem to be falling apart, God's plan is actually falling together. Have you ever felt disappointment in God's timing? Martha and Mary did. They believed if Jesus had come earlier their brother, Lazarus, would not have died. But Jesus said, "I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE." The power He has over the grave makes all things possible. Would you put your trust in Him?
As Jesus defines who He is, He defines who we are. I AM transforms who I am. In a time when our culture is largely defined by two things -- hurry and worry -- we can gain hope in the words of Jesus. I AM THE SHEPHERD. Whose voice are you listening to today? Is it the Shepherd's?
The world's message is "do what feels right." As a church, we often counter that with lots of rules. But as we find wrong in others, we can forget about the grace given to us. Jesus says, "I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD." He didn't come to condemn us, but to give us light. Finding your way is always a matter of finding the Light.
Is there a better way, a way to live life that does not leave us feeling exhausted or unsatisfied? John 6 defines the better way, the way that truly satisfies. Jesus says, "I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE." Join us as Pastor Ray Green begins a journey through the book of John and the powerful impact of Jesus' teachings on who He is. It is in understanding Him that we can be changed. I AM transforms who I am.
