WELCOME TO YOUR ESSENTIAL REGULAR CONTENT MARKETING UPDATE.
CONTENT HIGHLIGHTWhat now?Sonny Malhotra is a London-based photographer who has turned his passion into a project to capture, document and share the isolation of others through portrait photography on his Instagram feed.
Londoners volunteer to have their photo taken and with social distancing at play, @Photosonny takes their photo through the window, as part of his daily exercise efforts by bike, adding supporting commentary in the post comment.
Each image is a captivating take on captivity, isolation and muddling through the collectively shared experience of quarantine when living alone, as a couple, family or group.
These are uncharted times worth documenting. Others have now started to copy this creative photojournalism in other cities.
Where next?I would love to see these as Instagram Stories with a 5 frame edit of accompanying audio. A recorded interview after the shoot would maintain social distancing and add a layer of authenticity and colour to the already captivating content.
When this is all over, an exhibition in a gallery should provide the contrast of a vast space hosting the subject matter of what, for some, is no space at all.
Arguably, this is essential Comms, reinforcing the stay at home message, practising good social distancing and building out community when we are all having to shut away. It is this creative approach to tackling a problem that should be commended and seen far and wide as we stay home and safe.

“One of the most powerful assets your brand has is the people that are connected to it.”
HMRC implements social tools in recruitment process in bid to boost customer service - PublicTechnology.net
In a move to shift the recruitment process and to address key target-driven issues within the organisation, HMRC are to turn to social in its capacity to generate data, target an audience and reach the kind of people that traditional recruitment channels cannot. I think we will start to see a lot more job adverts in Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, it is astonishing that social and content roles don’t start their recruitment in those channels beyond an auto-generated tweet to a jobs board already.
“Part of those measures included “revised, more appealing job adverts, supported by enhanced marketing” and “attraction and outreach activity, aimed at driving up candidate numbers and reaching all diversity groups.”
Is Trolls World Tour the most important film of 2020? - The Guardian
When Cats was released and flopped at the back end of 2019, it was a signal that the movie industry was not hitting its stride. And now in isolation and quarantine times of early to mid-2020, cinemas are no go areas. Major releases from Bond to Top Gun have been postponed until Christmas and film studios have content sat there waiting, collecting dust, not takings. Trolls World Tour, the follow-up to the excellent Trolls film that was released in 2016, is being heralded as just the tonic for these times and the ticket is not for the cinema but straight to your on-demand screens at home. Distribution is through Sky Movies at £16 a pop. It is an uncomfortable price point for a home view without the fully-fledged cinema experience but it is much need entertainment. Critically, it is a tipping point for movie distribution.
“If people become used to getting new releases direct to their homes, they might never go back. Once broken, the theatrical window might never get fixed.”
