Rotary encoders are fun but a real pain to implement, especially if you don't have a real time OS. This seesaw-powered board give you a rotary encoder with I2C interface, the lil Cortex M0 is cheap and powerful enough to handle the gray code toggle counting, and then pass back the value to the I2C controller whenever requested. You can chain a bunch together on one bus for lotsa twisting fun. We're going to add a NeoPixel and then fabricate! Firmware is here https://github.com/adafruit/seesaw
