When you want to go round and round, a mechanical rotary encoder is a great user interface element. Folks find them intuitive to use and they're not too expensive either! For our new design, we need a mechanical rotary encoder with 24 pulses-per-rotation, detents, and a built in switch. Let's take a look on Digi-Key to see what's available!
