Of all the topics making headlines in 2017, one especially stands out: Sexual Abuse. This could easily be the news topic of the year. The saddest kind of abuse – any type of abuse – is the abuse of children and vulnerable adults. When we mention any kind of child abuse in a church, one reaction is, “Oh no! Not here!” but the sad reality is that “It CAN happen here.”
