China's decision to establish a national university for the aged to cope with its aging population and build a lifelong learning society has the support of 6PR old-timers Millsy & Karl.
The new Breakfast co-hosts think Australia should adopt the idea, given the percentage of our population aged 65 and over has increased from 4.6% in 1922 to 16.2% in 2021 and set to continue increasing to approximately 20.7% in 2066.
"Maybe we could go back to the old TAFE system where you could go study a course for the sake of being able to study," Millsy said, although Karl was more inclined to eye retirement.
"There are things I've always tried to do on the side, like auctioneering and things like that," Karl said.
