Adele Farina, CEO of Forest Industries Federation of WA told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live that consultation with the industry has been severely overlooked and is overdue.

"I couldn't agree with Jenna more. We knew that the government was preparing the draft and we knew that it was due for release within days so it came as no surprise," Ms Farina said.

"This decision is not based on science, it is short sighted and it has no regards for supporting regional communities and keeping workers in those regional communities."
