Episode 2, 2018: Chronic disability in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander People
We discuss: - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experience disability at approximately twice the rate of other Australians - Fracture prevalence is much higher and is increasing in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people - There is very limited data on bone density with no studies in muscle health. - Future studies are needed to formulate preventative strategies that are appropriate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
