Been inspired by Om Unit for absolute years — so it’s a real honour to get the call-up for Acid Dub Versions III.--Om Unit presents Acid Dub Versions III, the third set of remixes of material taken from all three volumes of his legendary Acid Dub Studies album trilogy. The album celebrates the legacy of the acid dub project with a high-caliber set of remixes. These include such prolific luminaries as Daniel Avery, Satoshi Tomiie, Richard Fearless (Death in Vegas), Tadd Mullinix (as Dabrye/Ghostly International) and Tilliander (TM404/Mokira/Kontra-music).Portland-based dub generals Alter Echo and E3 (of BSI Records and ZamZam Sounds fame) and UK dance pioneer Bok Bok (Night Slugs) join forces with newer faces like Beatrice M (Tectonic/Tempa), Dubrunner (Menace), Azu Tiwaline (Livity Sound), N1_Sound (Spiritual World), Krotone (Of Paradise/Challenger Deep), Piezo (Subaltern/Hundebiss), RS Tangent (Trilogy Tapes) and lowkey noise/techno/ambient polymath Misseterspoon (Avon Terror Corps).
The third release on Dubrunner's Menace label finds the soundsystem stalwart continuing to refine his distinctively modern club twist on dub sensibilities. Drawing elements of techno, trance, amapiano and dubstep into his lean and mean digi-dub workouts, Blackheart arrives as a laser-focused selection pitched at forward-facing DJs working the dance at peak time.For all the weight powering the likes of 'Protocol', Dubrunner's distinctive style is rooted in minimalism. The tangible breathing room in the mix leaves plenty of space for every subtle synth flourish and spring reverb splash to shine while maintaining a seductive tension throughout, all the better to hold the dancefloor energy on a tight leash.There's an even stronger sense of pressure bubbling under the surface on 'Blackheart' thanks to the looming low-end which purrs away underneath the crooked-but-driving drums, leaving the lead lines to add an emotive flourish as a foil to the introspective dub chords which shimmer through the track's latter stages.'Bad Mind' is a precision-sculpted throw down shaped out by delicate percussive intrigue and snaking groove, leaning further into a dub techno palette to set the mood and offset by flickers of auto tuned vocals that nod to amapiano.To round the EP off without easing up on sheer soundsystem impact, 'Night Shift' carries some of Dubrunner's most assured production work to date. Lead single ‘Shangdao’s Revenge’ is a monolithic, moody half-stepper electrified with dub techno chord shimmers and elastic breakbeats, and spaced out with deep wells of atmospheric processing.‘Fallen Tree’ locks into a tight 4/4 march driven by detailed percussion, with a classic steppas bassline, off-beat chord chops and distant melodica touches paying tribute to hugely influential UK steppas pioneers Alpha & Omega and their apocalyptic cut ‘Ground Is Shaking Dub’. The presence of log drums remind you Dubrunner is bringing his own fusions to the table, drawing on the amapiano explosion as fuel for this hybridised fire.‘Overruled’ strikes a more forthright, political tone, as Dubrunner foregrounds his values in a fierce statement against the oppressive systems of state control, capitalism and racism. The vocal samples come from Sankara Future Dub Resurgence, whose focus is on Africa’s defiance of its colonial history. I'm incredible grateful for Jamz giving me an opportunity to be able to play these records in one of my all time favourite venues. Left all my technical mishaps and sloppy mixing in here as I continue my love-hate relationship with playing vinyl whilst failing to control the volume of my dub siren -I'm making an effort this year to post all my sets so I can listen back and learn from my mistakes. As we’re all probably aware, the COVID-19 that first struck Wuhan in China’s Hubei province has proved to be a serious health emergency not just in the epicentre of Hubei but also throughout China and increasingly across the globe. Nearly 90,000 people have been infected and more than 3000 have died, most in Wuhan. There has been an inability to provide vital support to those on the frontline in Wuhan fighting the virus and hospitals are facing an unprecedented number of patients with enormous strain on dwindling resources. Wuhan and its hospitals are in need of equipment and support.
For these reasons, DCYY have put together the fundraising compilation, “Home Fitness”, bringing together 19 tracks from producers both inside and outside of China. With many throughout the country trapped at home, a home workout is all they can do.
As a side note, we also feel the need to highlight the increasing prejudicial hostility being experienced by Chinese and Asian people in their own countries and while abroad. The virus knows no race or colour and the damage it can cause can be felt anywhere.

众所周知，新冠肺炎自武汉爆发后，迅速蔓延至整个中国并扩散到全球范围。在此次全球性的公共健康危机中，近九万人被确诊感染，超三千人死亡，其中多数病例来自武汉。不幸成为重灾区的武汉又遭遇封城，奋战在疫情一线的医护人员、被感染的病患和被封闭在家的市民们在身心备受煎熬的同时也急缺各类医疗物资及生存必需物资，武汉和武汉各大医院都急需援助与支持。与此同时，随着疫情在海外的快速扩散，部分海外民众对国外华人以及亚洲面孔的偏见与歧视也愈加严重。
因此，到此一游组委会筹备了募捐合辑《家庭保健》，这张合辑收录了国内外20位音乐人捐赠的19支作品。参与其中的每一个人都希望能够通过这张合辑为对抗疫情出一份力，同时也向世界传递一则信息：病毒面前，没有种族或肤色，对任何人类的危害都是相同的，请彼此尊重，互相善待。
