How important is it “To Be Kind”? And yet, how exceedingly difficult it may be as we encounter others who are not kind.
It’s important to know the Lord’s character is good, kind, and loving. His lovingkindness never fails. So then, to emulate and demonstrate our love to Him would include to deliberately be kind to others. Sometimes that requires forgiveness.

We may have low self-esteem and look at others with envy, or we may look down on others pridefully. Either way, “Comparisons” come from a negative perspective.
If people look on themselves negatively, they’re not demonstrating gratitude to the Lord and may become people-pleasers. But if people see themselves better than others, they’re prideful and not loving their neighbors. We can overcome comparisons!

Do we have excuses for our actions, attitudes, or behaviors? Each person has free will, and in that they may make right choices or terrible mistakes.
For every believer, follower of Jesus is given the fruit of the Spirit which is filled with love and held together with self control. But if that self-control is not used, stretched, or maintained, it may remain weak for when a challenge comes along.

We often hear the phrase, “Come to Jesus” in reference to a moment of facing the truth about something. But it’s an invitation!
Scriptures tell us about Jesus, the Son of God, who suffered and died on the cross to pay for our sins. And He arose! He ascended to Heaven. The Lord stands at the door of each heart, knocking. It is our decision whether to welcome Him in.
What does it take to come to Jesus? Repent. Believe. Accept Him as Lord and Savior. And be heaven-bound!

Often, “Feeling Alone” is due to the absence of friendships or the loss of them. Having a sense of belonging is a human’s basic need.
While there’s enticement to feel alone hitting us from many directions, Jesus invites us to a lasting relationship with Him. Once we belong to Him, we can have confidence He will stand by us. The Apostle Paul, for example (2 Timothy 4:16-18), found that some friends may abandon us, but those who love the Lord can trust that He will never leave.

“Share Your New Beginning” may refer to various context. We get a fresh start with each day, new year resolutions, a new job, healing, or addiction recovery.
The ultimate new beginning is when a person turns to God in repentance and accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior. A believer’s life is never the same, they become a new creature, equipped for their purpose.
In this episode Casey shares about when she first came to Jesus, her salvation message. One of the things the devil used was to question why God let her baby brother suffer. Her baby brother was in a horrific, mysterious incident while Casey was a teen, and he was left severely handicapped. Thirty years later, living as a baby, he succumbed to pneumonia.
We don’t always understand why bad things happen to good people or to the innocent. But Casey is sure her baby brother will spend eternity with Jesus.

There are memorable examples of how our choices affect the future in She Stands, a suspenseful Christian mystery found at CarinJayneCasey.com and amazon.com
In today’s episode, “Are You Ready?” we study the parable of the ten virgins, found in Matthew 25:1-13.
Half of the virgins ensured they had sufficient oil for their lamps while they waited for the bridegroom and the other half did not. All the virgins were asleep when the bridegroom arrived, but those who had prepared went with him. The others missed that opportunity.
Is there unfinished business to attend to? None of us knows the exact day or hour when Jesus is coming again, but it’s sooner than it was a century ago, or even yesterday. This is not a time to be distracted, procrastinate, or to give up. Are you ready?

There are various practical examples of how to let go of troubles in She Stands, a suspenseful Christian mystery found at CarinJayneCasey.com and amazon.com
In today’s episode, “Good vs. Evil,” we study the parable of the faithful servant vs. the wicked servant, found in Matthew 24: 42-51.
These verses emphasize that we have choices with an unknown time limit. We don’t know when Jesus comes, so typically believers would plant good seeds. Such as, loving others and serving the Lord in hopes for a harvest.
That harvest may be answered prayers, loved ones saved, and eternal rewards. But what if a person slacks off or gives up and finds themself with no eternal rewards?
As a believer presses forward in good works in gratitude for His mercy and grace, others will see it, be influenced, and ultimately glorify God.

In today’s episode, “Be Fruitful,” we study the parable of the fig tree, found in Matthew 24: 32-35 that Jesus told.
These verses indicate things that will happen, just as the growth process of a fig tree, until the coming of Jesus. Compare it to the beginning of the fall season. We see trees falling, daylight becoming shorter, and we can sense that fall is near.
As believers prepare for Jesus to come and through gratitude for His mercy and grace, we strive to be fruitful in character, in good works, and in loving/ serving so unbelievers will be influenced toward Jesus.

In today’s episode, “The Heart” of man, we study the parable in Matthew 15:10-20 that Jesus taught His disciples. What matters is what resides within us, and it will eventually become evident.
A believer has power to overcome. Every evil thought can be held captive since we’re well equipped with the armor of God (as in Eph. 6) and the Fruit of the Spirit. We’re never alone!

In today’s episode, “Pearl of Great Price,” we study the parable in Matthew 13:45-46 that Jesus taught His disciples.
I believe an unbeliever is like a pearl of great price to Jesus, because He gave it all, even to suffer and die for them. Once a person realizes the true value of Jesus Christ, they will seek after Him and give all of themself for Jesus, becoming a believer who will be with Him through eternity.

In today’s episode, “Faith of a Mustard Seed,” we study the parable in Matthew 13:31-32 that Jesus taught His disciples about the faith of a mustard seed. How powerful can that be?
Matthew 17:20, NIV shares that Jesus said “… Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
In Hebrews 11, we learn the definition of faith and how our faith brings us closer to the Lord. Indeed, we could not come to Jesus without faith. Hebrews 11 gives many examples in our ancient history of faith in action.

In today’s episode, “Sabotage,” we study the parable in Matthew 13:24-30 that Jesus taught His disciples about the weeds among the wheat planted.
The enemy sneaked in and planted the weeds and the roots intertwined with the wheat, just like the world has both good and evil within it. Separation will happen at harvest time. The sabotage happens when we think all is wheat (or good) but the lot is full of weeds (evil) as well.
How can we tell the weeds from the wheat in our daily lives? Jesus said we will know them by their fruit, such as goodness, kindness, patience, love, joy…

Today we talk about the book, “Mary Tells Her Story,” The True Founder of Yeshua’s House, by Mary Faletic Bollman. In this story we learn of a volatile domestic violence situation that came to a head in 1917.
As one review says, it is “a moving story of resilience and generosity born of hardship and concern for others. The youngest child eventually provided the funding needed for her granddaughter, Angela, to open Yeshua’s House. Yeshua’s House is a faith-based non-profit safe haven for women and their children coming from domestic violence and/or financial hardship.
As a previous Board member for four years and currently on the Advisory Committee, I can attest to the diligence of Angela B Brown and her husband, Moses Brown in helping women and families.

In today’s episode, “Listen and Learn,” we study the parable in Matthew 13:1-23 that Jesus taught His disciples (believers/ followers), about the farmer’s seeds planted.
Some were snatched away by the enemy; some were without deep roots so problems and persecution tore them away; some hearts were crowded with worries and lures by this world; and yet some did fall upon good soil and produced a harvest.
This parable encourages every believer to listen, learn, and study to understand the Word of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and to be fruitful within their calling. They do not give up because there is a harvest.

In today’s episode, “Fighting Spirit,” we study the parable in Matthew 12:24-30 that Jesus taught His disciples (believers/ followers).
Jesus addressed the accusation He cast out demons because He was evil, so He explained about a kingdom divided. He brought home that we’re either for Him or against. We choose the enemy (darkness) or the Lord (light). The undecided default to the enemy. There’re no bystanders sitting on the fence - no decision is a decision.

In this episode “Reap What You Sow,” Casey shares portions of chapter eleven in A New Song Rises Up! which is titled, “Will You Reap What You Sow?” Monday episodes are in a progressive series this month.
As she reads, she explains how Jesus used terms ‘sowing and reaping in parables,’ likely so the farming community could easily relate the Spiritual Law of Sowing and Reaping. Essentially, when we do (sow) good (seeds), we can anticipate good things (a crop) to happen, answered prayer (a harvest). But if we sow evil, we can expect to face consequences, as in Gal, 6:7-10.
We each see this Law play out in our daily lives as we make choices. As Casey can attest, sometimes consequence for bad acts can be hard and lasting.

All eight of Karen R Lacy Children’s Book series are packed with adventure and fun, but especially, four emphasize “Imaginative Play” even when there’s chores to be done!
In “A Day with Farmer John,” he shows a positive outlook with his chores while he interacts with farm animals, including steers, cows, pigs, chickens. His whole family cheerfully works together. A great farm life!
“Mama and Lil’ Cub” are startled by hunters one night, making Lil’ Cub curious. Allowed to view people, he spots yummy food and runs for it. Mama barely gets him out of the trashcan before people reach them. Lil’ Cub learned a lesson.
In “Our Little Friends,” we learn about the life of hummingbirds and ways we can interact with them. This book beautifully illustrates hummingbirds.
“Betsy’s Adventure” shares what Betsy finds along her journey, such as flowers, Robins, rabbits, a squirrel, cat, and dogs. There are a few scary moments along the way, one involving a toad, lizard, and snake.

In this episode “Spiritual Warfare,” Casey shares portions of chapter nine in A New Song Rises Up! which is titled, “Are You Experiencing Spiritual Warfare?” Monday episodes are in a progressive series this month.
An example of spiritual warfare is found in Daniel 10:11-13, where an angel tells Daniel the prophet that God heard him when he first prayed his petition. But angels had to fight evil in spiritual warfare, which took 21 days before the angel could reach Daniel. We must realize that we’re in an ongoing battle between good and evil forces daily, and put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18.
Casey urges, turn to God in faith, believing. As in Joshua 1:7-9, strive to be strong and courageous, unafraid, knowing that God is with you.

In this episode “Toxic People,” Casey shares portions of chapter five in A New Song Rises Up! which is titled, “What Can You Do About Toxic People?” Monday episodes are in a progressive series this month.
As she reads a scenario of a habitually toxic person in a gathering and how she negatively affects others. This could’ve been people within a workshop, church, in-laws, or family. Are we helpless to the abuse, mistreatments, manipulations, and control? We can repeatedly pray and forgive, striving for a good response. Can or should we walk away?
Casey suggests prayer and to consider, as with domestic violence, to safely leave that habitually toxic environment. Prayerfully study Proverbs 22:24-25, James 3:16, 1 Cor. 15:33, 2 Cor 6:14.

In “Katie Saves Penguie,” the ice Penguie stood on separated him from the ice his family and friends were on. Wally Walrus and Gail the Seal strived to help, but it was Katie the Killer Whale who came to the rescue.
“Taffy is Lost!” happens when Taffy became distracted and wandered away from her mother. Taffy had to ask many strangers and friends for help, such as monkeys, a cheetah, leopard, lion and others. Taffy asked Ella the Elephant, who knew where her mother was. Taffy learned a valuable lesson.

In this episode, "Healthy Healing," Casey introduces Dr. Don Colbert’s books Healthy Gut and Beyond Keto as well as Life Outreach International’s book (James Robison) 40 Days of Healing Promises – deemed as significant sources because of her recent medical journey.
How many others have fallen into the same trap? Because of neve pain, Casey found herself in a vicious cycle: inflammation bringing on excess hunger for comfort food, carbs and sugar, leading to higher inflammation, ultimately bringing her to prediabetes!
Casey turned to God with a humble, contrite heart with faith He will heal her. She has put that faith into action. By putting into practice what she gleans from Dr. Colbert’s books, combined with her faith in God’s healing promises, she has hope.

As in 1 Peter1, we’re encouraged to prepare our minds, being steadfast in spirit, maintain self-discipline, and fix our hope completely on the grace of God that comes through Jesus.

In light of this being Independence Day in the United States, we look at what the Lord had granted. We’re “Free to Choose” to turn to Him or not, life or death, as in Deut.30.
Isn’t it awesome that the Creator of the Universe gave us free will? But with it is the Spiritual Law of Sowing and Reaping. When we turn to God with a contrite heart in faith and accept Jesus, we’re saved. But still, mistakes happen.
Casey shares a recent medical problem that served to distract her into further troubles. It’s a challenge shared as a cautionary tale. While facing consequences for her mistakes, she turned to the Lord, praying for forgiveness and healing. There’s hope for the future!
Miracles happen when we believe.
Do you have a challenge to overcome? Let this episode encourage you.
I look forward to your feedback.

In this podcast episode is an introduction of “Mystery at Candice Bay” by Carin Jayne Casey, which was relaunched only a few weeks ago (June 13th).
This is a real who done it page turner—you won’t want to put the book down until the very end. But also, it covers a variety of hard topics in a way that both teens and adults can relate to. Such as: faith over fear, dealing with negative people and bullying, grieving, PG-13 romance, as well showing the need for teamwork within a family, church, and community.

Why was Eve so easily “Deceived” by the serpent? He was skilled in lies and manipulation, well able to use her lack of self-control and her prideful hunger for power.
There’s a constant battle within us and surrounding us while the enemy continues to deceive with the intent to steal, kill, and to destroy (John 10:10). But we know the end of that story, Jesus has already overcome (John 16:33). When we give our struggles and temptations to God, He fights our battles.

Casey shares a brochure she’d written in 2020 designed to help each person “Overcome Challenges” they face.
The brochure now resides within the Appendix of My Dear Rosa Jean. There, Casey presents five ingredients in a Recipe for Overcoming Challenges. In her book, these ingredients are explained in further detail:
1. Turn to God
2. Safely leave your dangerous and habitually toxic environment
3. Believe and have faith
4. Be filled with gratitude
5. Forgive yourself, your abuser, and the indifferent

Here we explore the life of Samson, the final Judge of Israel (Judges 16) who loved Delilah. But she was a “Bad Influence” on him and instrumental in his downfall.
Delilah was not an Israelite; her culture worshiped idols. She was bribed by the Lords of Philistines to learn the secret of Samson’s strength. She was the ultimate manipulator, constantly finding ways to tempt Samson to lose his self-control. This is a cautionary tale - how many of us can relate to the bad influence of some people within our circle of friendships?

Casey believes if not for the familiarity (pattern) of abuse from childhood, and then domestic violence, she would not have allowed herself to suffer from “Toxic Relationships.”
Within the pages of A New Song Rises Up! is more detail of her experiences and what she learned within toxic relationships. A people-pleaser to her detriment, she didn’t realize the toxicity was abuse.
Indeed, the Lord rescued her, for which she is always grateful. She encourages an awareness, advocacy, and prevention of this pervasive (yet often not recognized) problem in today’s world.

Martha and Mary (Luke 10) were good friends of Jesus and he often visited them when in their area. While both women loved Jesus, Martha allowed herself to be distracted in service while Mary’s “Priority” was to worship Jesus.
It appears that while serving the Lord is good, distractions and busyness can easily take away from the better thing, praise and worship.

Achsah, the beautiful daughter of Caleb, gives us an example to follow: “Ask, Believe, Receive” (episode links below).
Achsah had been given a nice marital dowry from her father, but the land lacked water. Without water access, the usefulness and value of the land would fail. Should she ask for more? She asked and received even beyond what she needed.

Two spies were sent by Joshua to survey Jericho before the Israelites would take the land. Rahab the harlot risked her life to hide these spies, saving their lives. In this episode we look to 2 Kings 11 and 2 Chronicles 22 for the story of a wicked family line being broken, ultimately to cause a good king to rise up. It took Jehosheba’s obedience for such a time as this to preserve the lineage of King David to the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Some steps might include: 1) pray; prayer is powerful; 2) get educated about child abuse and trafficking; and 3) stand firm within the capacity available when presented with a situation. What ways can we hope to prevent lasting effects of child abuse within our families?
What are your thoughts as we touch on this serious topic? I look forward to your feedback.

In this episode we see how the author’s reflections relate to that of the readers in the “A New Song Rises Up STUDY GUIDE.”
Chapter by chapter, the book and Study Guide help each person work out their own journey.
We can all resonate with incidents within a toxic environment. Here, as each person responds to questions, they can evaluate as a third party what happened and why. Hopefully, we walk away with a new perspective.

In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 we find encouragement to “Play it Forward” as we comfort others in the same way we have been comforted by the Lord.
While we may face storms in life, we can be of good cheer knowing God promises His comfort through those trials. While we are weak, He is strong; we can lean on His strength.
As we receive, we can also give. It’s an awesome cycle of blessings.

Peter asked Jesus how many times we must forgive, seven times? But Jesus responded we must forgive seventy times seven, meaning “It Never Ends.”
How can one successfully forgive repeatedly? It is possible through the Holy Spirit for the believer.
As a domestic violence advocate, I must clarify, although we must continue to forgive, that doesn’t at all mean to go back to an abuser. Trust has been broken and may not be repairable; trust should come slowly, as one proves themselves trustworthy.

In Romans 8:28, we learn that “God Works All Things For Good” for those who love Him.
In this episode, the story of Joseph is briefly considered. He suffered slavery and imprisonment for accusations he was innocent of, but through it all he had love and faith in the Lord. Ultimately, he was in position to save all the peoples of Egypt and his family during famine. In forgiveness, he explained to his brothers that what they had meant for harm, God meant it for good (Gen. 50).
Can you look back at things that happened, only to realize that what the enemy meant for your harm, God had a good plan for you?

Jesus brought radical instruction when He said to “Love Your Enemies” and pray for their blessings.
We can look to Jesus while He suffered on the cross, saying, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” In that we could consider, if they only knew that heaven and hell, and the spiritual law of sowing and reaping are real, then they would not have said or done what they did.

What is the greatest blessing, the greatest gift from God? In Romans 1, we’re told that it is our “Salvation in Christ.”
The salvation message is found throughout the gospels, notably in John 3:16 and John 14:6. The Word of God shares that our Heavenly Father sacrificed His only Son, Jesus, for our opportunity into Eternal Life. Jesus suffered and died on the cross to pay for our sins and He arose.
We can decide to turn to God in repentance, believing, and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. This is the biggest decision we can ever make.

Much of the terrible things within our imagination never really happen; and yet, we waste valuable time with a negative outlook. "Seeking Forgiveness"
Do you think your sins or mistakes are unforgiveable, that you are condemned forever? That’s not what the Lord says! Let’s study God’s promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Will the Lord address at another time what He once forgave? In Isaiah 43 and Hebrews 10, we find he remembers our sins no more.
How is this possible? Jesus has already paid it all (John 3:16, John 14:6) so when approach the Lord with a contrite heart, and believing, we accept Jesus, we are forgiven. We find redemption by His blood.

With this calendar year coming to an end, wouldn’t you love to see “positive change” happen for 2022? How can that be accomplished?
We always need to first confer with the Lord in prayer. Ask for direction!
A practical idea is while setting up the new daily planner, a person could seriously review what transpired over the prior year, and consider:
Where was my time spent?
Were there areas in excess?
What can I do to evoke change?
Did I waste time and resources in areas I should now minimize or drop?

Sword of the Spirit, “Trusting God’s Plan.” We consider the life of Joseph, found in Genesis 37 through 50 as it may relate to how we respond to challenges faced.
Early on, Joseph had a great dream. Subsequently he was thrown into a pit, then sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. But God was with him. He suffered a long stint in prison, although innocent. But God was with him. Finally, Joseph found himself in position to help all peoples of Egypt. Through all the hard circumstances he faced, he maintained patient faith, trusting in God’s good plan.

#swordofthespirit #Turn2GodwCarin #trustinggodsplan,
The world seems to be full of people with entitlement issues. The problem appears within families, groups of friends or at work. This appears to be a pervasive problem today.
When a person feels entitled, they believe everyone else owes them, or should serve them, and they will not compromise or feel empathy for other’s needs.
What happens to that person of entitlement? They are not satisfied, always expecting more of the best from others. Those they actually need and look on as servants will move further away from them. All the while, that person with entitlement issues comes into a life of prideful sin.
The Lord grants grace to the humble but detests pride. If prideful, is there a remedy? Once a person is convicted and recognizes the need for change, they can decide to humbly turn to God in repentance and come to Jesus!
This was simply food for thought as we enter into the

The world may tell you it’s a good thing to profess yourself as ‘self-made’ or self-sufficient.
But is that true?
People were created for relationships, to work together, and help each other. But what happens when we chose to remain self-sufficient, pridefully believing we need nobody else, and considering ourselves better than others? We move further from humility and toward the sin of pride.
The Lord grants grace to the humble but detests pride.
If prideful, is there a remedy?

We consider in this episode whether materialism and greed might actually be troubling challenges to overcome.
How great is the sacrifice made if we choose not to be generous, charitable, kind, courteous, and exercise self-control?Do we sacrifice true fulfillment, a sense of satisfaction? Does everyone within our life suffer, then, to some extent?
This was simply food for thought as we enter into the Holiday season.

Do you face challenges, you need to overcome? There is hope for your future! As a domestic violence survivor, overcomer, and advocate, I want to share what I’ve learned during a lifetime of abuse. For instance, did you know the abuser has a ‘hook’ used to get their victim to stay?
Through my experience, I’ve come to believe I have the “Recipe for Overcoming” challenges, not just in domestic violence. There are only five ingredients, which I explain in this episode.

Do you believe what you sow, that you will also reap? It’s a spiritual law (Gal.6:7-8). If we sow evilness, we can hope to face consequences. Here we explore the story of Abigail and Nabal (1 Samuel 25).
Did you realize that a marriage is to mirror Christ’s love for the church!? The depth of a man’s love for his wife should be as Jesus’ loves His flock and gave Himself for it (Eph.5:25).

Where can we go when we’re desperate and afraid? We can turn to the Lord!
He is our refuge, a very present help in times of trouble.
There are many people in need of the Lord’s sheltering wings today, in need of refuge. What about women and their children who are in need of a safe haven? Should we have a concern even when it doesn’t involve those we know and love? Consider the greatest commandment, to love our neighbor as ourselves! The reality is that domestic violence can happen to anyone: you, your sister, your friend… maybe it is happening now to someone you care about! This is a pervasive problem to concern us all.
Many organizations offer support; I mention one:

Sword of the Spirit, Abuse No More: Abusive HomeHow important is it to be free from a toxic or abusive relationship? The Bible has much to say on this. Let’s study a few passages (i.e., Prov.22, 1 Cor.5, and 2 Timothy 3).
Are you surprised that there are character traits we should watch out for? For instance, did you realize we should avoid hot-tempered people? All for our own good, so we will not become hot-tempered ourselves or suffer their abuse.

In this episode we consider the definition of domestic violence, delve into areas affected by abuse, and list typical ‘red flags’ to watch out for. It’s a time to lean on the Lord for help.

Sword of the Spirit, Abuse No More: Abusive LifeMaybe you, as I, can relate to the effects of experience in a toxic environment. There was a period in my life that I held anger inside. Let’s study passages in Proverbs to see how to remedy this!
How can we control our anger? How can we forgive others? We cannot escape our sinful nature without God. But with God, all things are possible. When we become a believer, we find that we are equipped with the Fruit of the Spirit, enabling us in love, peace, joy… and self-control (refer to Gal. 5). In this episode, Mr. Lightfoot explains what domestic violence is, why and how it may happen, the various types of such abuse, factors relating to both the abusers and the victims, and so much more. With the pandemic came increased isolation and financial struggles for families, as well as an increase in domestic violence. “Can You Pray For Others?”Regardless of your own struggles, can you route your focus on the needs of others? What good can come from that?
This month Carin shares a personal struggle with physical pain, what she learns from it, and what promises the Lord provides. In this episode, consider the Golden Rule and the Greatest Commandment as we pray for others in their time of need. Job prayed for his friends and was restored (Job 42); he was blessed as he blessed others. Jesus’ wounds heals our wounds (1Peter 2, Psalm 147); in that, we can emulate Him.
Will the power of our prayers be increased when we pray in agreement with other believers? Yes! (as noted in Matthew 18 and James 5). There is power in consistent prayer and praise to the Lord.

“Will He Help You?”In other words, do you know whether the Creator of the Universe cares about what happens to you? Do you feel that you don’t deserve His mercy?
This month Carin shares a personal struggle with physical pain, what she learns from it, and what promises the Lord provides. In this episode we realize that each person was created with a purpose, and He knows our every thought or mistake, yet His love is everlasting. The ultimate proof of His great love is the sacrifice of His only son to pay for our sins, and Jesus arose. We only need to turn to Him in repentance, believing, and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.
When you turn to God, you can receive beauty for ashes; you may weep through the night, but joy comes in the morning. There is power to be found in consistent prayer and praise to the Lord, with gratitude. (Psalm 30:5, 139; Matthew 10; Luke 12; Jeremiah 29:11, 31:3; John 3:16, 14:6)

Sword of the Spirit: “Can You Praise Him?”We consider the need to praise the Lord through any circumstance, even while walking through a dark valley in life.
Carin shares a breakthrough in her own season of pain when her friend, Beth, from Hope Point Church came to pray for her healing, anointed with oil, and asked, “What praise and worship songs do you listen to?” Immediately, Carin immersed herself in praise and worship passages, songs, and prayer… A significant healing journey ensued.

“Is Your Pain Unbearable?”It may seem you cannot bear the pain another moment, but the Lord promises otherwise, and so much more!
This month Carin shares a personal struggle with physical pain, what she learns from it, and what promises the Lord provides. In this episode we discuss promises we can rely upon, so we can have hope and not give up. 1 Corinthians 10:13 shares the limits of our suffering, even that there is a means of escape. 2 Corinthians 4:17 encourages us not to give up - this season is only temporary in the grand scheme.

Carin’s Book Corner: “Healing From The Pain”Sharing from “A New Song Rises Up!” in the chapter, “How Can You Heal From The Pain?”
We visit the author’s writing of past back surgery and healing. But also, the author shares her current journey with pain and healing. Like David as he faced Goliath, she looks at past times the Lord has brought her through; therefore, she has faith that this too will pass.
This current struggle is only temporary and not more than she can bear. While in this journey of pain herself, prayers for others increases in authenticity, sincerity, and empathy.

We looked at the disabled man who laid by the Bethesda Pool. He had remained in his pitiful story for 38 years. But when he decided to take that first step of faith in the Lord, his pitiful story changed into a testimony of God’s healing.
As we choose faith, our wounds are healed; as we share our testimony, we help others heal. It’s an awesome cycle of blessings.

“How Much Will God Forgive?”
You may believe you’ve fallen too far to be forgiven, but let’s look at the life of the Apostle Paul…Please join me!
Saul persecuted Christians and had the authority to approve the stoning of the Apostle Stephen. What happened to change him?
The Lord came to him while he traveled the Damascus Road, giving him opportunity to repent, and he did. From that moment on he became the Apostle Paul, serving the Lord zealously.
If he had not walked away from his sinful life and accepted Jesus, he would have remained lost. Many people would not have come to Jesus through his influence, we wouldn’t have the many epistles by the Apostle Paul.

Did Jesus come to save those who are perfect, or for a sinner like me?Why did Jesus allow himself to suffer? Please join me!
We looked at several scriptures (i.e., 1 Timothy 2:1-4; Romans 5:6-8) to confirm Jesus died for all of us, even while we were sinners. That’s how great His love is.
Did Jesus know there would be suffering in sacrifice? Again, we found that He knew what was to come, and did it anyway (see John 1:1-4; 10:10-30; 14:6-7) so that when Jesus arose, we would have opportunity for eternal life.

Because of our Heavenly Father’s unfailing love for us, He was willing to sacrifice His only son for you and for me. Jesus came to earth, fulfilling over 300 prophecies, for the purpose of suffering and dying on the cross. Why? To pay for our sins. But it didn’t end there: He arose, He defeated death! He is the way for us to enjoy eternity with Him, when we repent and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Would you characterize yourself as slow to anger, hot-tempered, or something in-between? What can you do when situations happen to entice you to stay angry?
Please join me!
In Ephesians 4:26, we’re encouraged to halt that emotion when it comes, and …”don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day.” (The Passion Translation, TPT)
Does frustration, offense, and injustice trigger anger within you? What can you do?
In “A New Song Rises Up!” there is much information for those of us who are in or have been in an abusive, toxic environment. One of the important steps is to safely leave that habitually toxic environment.

Instead of hanging around mean-spirited, quick tempered people, we can choose to find those who are loving, peaceful, kind, gentle, and patient (who demonstrate His Fruit, Gal.5).
What can we do when offenses come? Prayer is powerful! Pray with and for forgiveness and for peace. Psalm 34:14 (from TPT) encourages, “…make ‘peace’ your life motto…Practice being at peace with everyone.”

Are you a good listener? Are you paying attention to what you listen to?
How much is what you listen to affecting you? Please join me! https://buzzsprout.com/1275572
James 1:19 encourages us to be “quick to listen…” Let’s take a look at some scenarios relating to listening habits. Are we too busy to fully listen? Do we only seem to listen while we prepare to talk? Do we interrupt those speaking? Are we listening for the Lord’s still, small voice?
Another question to ponder: Are there times when we should not be listening?
As we look at related scriptures, we can determine the instances where we should protect our ears from what we hear or listen to.
As you listen, is it something you want to affect your thoughts, your mind and heart? Do you hear words that are soothing, gentle? Pleasant, like a honeycomb? Philippians 4:8 provides a great roadmap toward things that are good for your soul.

Can you maintain a firm resolve, and not give up?
Do you have faith that the Lord is with you and will deliver you?
This month we address topics relating to ‘focus.’ We can focus on the Lord for our future rather than on the distractions, fears, and conflicts in the world.
We look at the spiritual law of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7-10) as encouragement that when we take a stand, we can hope for rewards, answered prayers, reaping a harvest.
We considered the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and the blazing furnace (Daniel 3) where they took a stand with their focus on the Lord. They were not alone, and the Lord delivered them! As in Psalm 46:1 (NIV), “God is our refuge and strength, An ever-present help in trouble.”

Today I read from my Bible, Psalm 22, in the New International Version (NIV).
This is a lovely Psalm of David, a man after God’s own heart. He cries out to the Lord with the enemy after him like roaring lions. The Lord is his strength, and he praises God for deliverance. We too can cry out to the Lord for deliverance from our enemies.
This Psalm depicts the scene of Jesus' crucifixion which happened centuries later!
Jesus Christ suffered, died, and arose, defeating death. Why? For our sakes, to provide a way for our future with Him.

Your Vision Matters!
How and why should I make plans for the upcoming year?
Writing or journaling plans was even done in the Old Testament days, and today it remains an effective means of prayerfully setting out goals for the next season.
Does the Lord have plans for you, and if so, how will you know what they are?
What are some advantages to taking careful steps in the process?
What steps could you take to make your efforts more effective?
Why does your vision matter?

Reason for the Season -
It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord!
Christmas means different things among the crowds, whether with secular or spiritual connotations. For believers in Jesus, Christmas is a time we set aside in remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ, which had been foretold hundreds of times in the Old Testament.
In this Episode we read about the birth of Jesus from Luke 1 and 2.
Do you know why Jesus came?
What was the ultimate demonstration of God’s love for us all?

Stop making Excuses!
Did you know that excuses can steal your dreams?
What may have thought of as innocent ‘half-truths’ or ‘embellishments’ may have brought us into a terrible pattern of giving excuses. What harm is in it? Maybe sacrificing something good that could happen, failing a relationship, not meeting important goals…
Is it too late to bring about positive change?

In this episode, I premier my latest release, A New Song Rises Up! with a Study Guide.
Candidly, I share reflections of struggles in my life, some of them heart-wrenching while life-threatening. It is a cautionary tale. Through every instance, the Lord did forgive, rescue, and save me.
He lifted me up out of darkness and gave me a new life (Ps.40:2-3). With gratitude, I can say, “He delivered me, and He can deliver you - Turn to God!”
