What is Your Name? Mark 5:1-20

By angels we mean those spiritual beings which God created higher than humans, some of whom have remained obedient to God and carry out his will, and others of whom disobeyed, lost their holy condition, and now oppose and hinder his work. - Millard Erickson

I. The Demonic Realm is POWERFUL. (v1-5) The person so possessed is being destroyed, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

II. The Demonic Realm is PERSISTENT. (v6-13)

III. The Demonic Realm has A PROBLEM. (v14-20)

MY NAME is CHRISTIAN. I confess JESUS as My SAVIOR, My LORD and My KING. My allegiance is forever and ever to His KINGDOM and His POWER and His GLORY! I will worship Him, and Him only will I serve. My LIFE belongs COMPLETELY to Him.

MY NAME is CHRISTIAN - INDWELT by the Holy Spirit of God: (NOTE: Leave this as a header for the rest of the slides) I CANNOT be possessed by even ONE DEMON. I CAN EXPECT to be oppressed by THE DEVIL. I CAN RESIST the devil, TURN from his temptations and ENDURE what God allows thru Him. I WILL DEPEND on the power of the Holy Spirit to OVERCOME evil. I WILL NOT be IGNORANT of the devil’s devices. I WILL NOT be TAKEN advantage of by the devil’s tactics. I WILL TAKE HEED to study and discern what really MATTERS.

MY NAME is CHRISTIAN - INDWELT by the HOLY SPIRIT of God: MY SPIRITUAL READINESS MATTERS. I will TAKE UP the whole armor of God, PRAYERFULLY ready to stand! I will BE VIGILANT, STRONG, RESISTING, ENDURING and READY to ENGAGE.

MY NAME is CHRISTIAN - INDWELT by the HOLY SPIRIT of God: MY SPIRITUAL MINDSET MATTERS! I will TAKE every thought CAPTIVE to the obedience of Christ. I will PUNISH all DISOBEDIENCE when my obedience is fulfilled. I will NOT be A FRIEND of the world or AFRAID of the world.

MY NAME is CHRISTIAN - INDWELT by the HOLY SPIRIT of God: MY HEART ATTITUDES MATTER! I will BE forgiving! I will NOT be moved by my pride! I will SPEAK the truth! I will THINK before I SPEAK! I will NOT LIE to The Holy Spirit! I WILL NOT BOAST and LIE against the TRUTH! I WILL NOT SIN in my anger! I WILL NOT LET bitter envy and self-seeking CONTINUE! I WILL NOT LET sexual immorality CONTINUE! I WILL SHOW by my good conduct, a GODLY character!

MY NAME is CHRISTIAN - INDWELT by the HOLY SPIRIT of God: MY HEART CONFESSIONS MATTER! When I SIN against God in any of these matters, I WILL READILY CONFESS my sin to God. I WILL REPENT BEFORE God and others. I WILL REFUSE to EXCUSE myself or BLAME others. I WILL FORGIVE and RELEASE those and who have sinned against me. I WILL SEEK to RECONCILE with those that I’ve offended. I WILL MAKE RESTITUTION to those to whom I am indebted. I WILL FREELY GIVE because I have FREELY RECEIVED.
