In a country like INDIA known for its lack of sanitation -an issue Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has formed a national program to address- this humble village MAWLYNNONG isa model of cleanliness. Each and every one knows about the vale of sanitation and has adopted it as their daily activity. The village was declared as the cleanest village in ASIA in 2003 and cleanest village in INDIA in 2005 by Discover INDIA Magazine. Children in the village are taught about sanitation at an early age to keep the surrounding clean and green. They adopt innovative and Eco-friendly methods of harvesting rain water in natural stone basins. Not only this they pass this tradition generation by generation. The villagers have toilets in their houses and practice good sanitation habits with a clear vision of cleanliness and efficient sustainable ways of preserving the rich natural environment. This village and its people shall be a role model for every citizens in order to fulfill the dreams of MAHATMA GANDHI. This is why this place is considered to be the GOD'S OWN GARDEN##
