The city of Nineveh is its focus: 150 years previously, the city had responded to the preaching of Jonah and turned from its evil ways to serve God. Sadly the Ninevites did not heed Nahums warning and as a result they were besieged and the city overthrown. We learn from this that God is patient and slow to anger, but He is not mocked, and will eventually action judgement.
