Christian integrity is not only upright moral character in public, but it also pertains to what we do in private. We are to emulate the character of Christ so that no one may lay a charge against us. We are supposed to have to the mind of Christ which we receive by the washing and renewing of our minds by reading God's Word. We are to have the heart of Christ by humbling ourselves and allowing the Holy Spirit to mold us and guide us.
God calls us Christians to walk in integrity just as Jesus did. We are not saved by our good works but good works proceed from our salvation. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works with encouragement!
Many times when God puts gives us a vision or puts a certain task on our hearts but we do not know the trials that may lay ahead. Satan will do anything he can to divert us from completing these tasks and many times he uses trials to do so. So often we can get caught up in fighting the battles that lay before us that it distracts us from the vision. We must come before God and lay all things at His feet with prayer and supplications. Don't get overwhelmed with opposition. Know how to fight the battles with prayer!
As we seek God for answers and direction in life, what do we do in the meantime while we wait? Waiting on the Lord is not a stagnant process. We are to be "working while we wait". That means; preparing ourself with prayer, fasting, and aligning ourselves to God's will. He may be waiting for us to get ourselves right with Him until our prayers our answered!
God calls us Christians to be "active" Christians. Wether it's helping in your local church or helping in your community, we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We need to ask God to stir up in our hearts the compassion to reach the needs of people.
From time to time God needs to reignite a heart of passion within His people. Sometimes in order for that to happen we must know God's will for our lives and have faith to step into that His plan. Faith must be accompanied by action for us to live effected lives for the Lord!
Prayer is key for breakthrough, for spiritual warfare, for intimacy with our Savior, for revelation of God's will, and many other important factors in our Christian walks. Of all the things the disciples saw Jesus do, they asked Him how to pray. When Jesus prayed - things happened, heaven moved, and the will of the Father was manifest here on earth. There is power in prayer!
How do we as Christians live in a "shaky world"? We must be humble and obedient to God. Allowing Him to use as He wills. Man plans his ways but the Lord directs his steps. We must be lights in a wicked and perverse generation. We can all agree that our nation is in a darkened state. It is the churches responsibility to be lights to expose the darkness and to reveal the truth!
Jesus is our Good Shepherd. His sheep know His voice. In order to know the Shepherd's voice we must spend time with Him - reading His Word, praying to Him, and living out the the will and the heart of the Father. Obedience and humility is key to be under the guidance and protection of the Good Shepherd.
How do you live the good life? By running the race with endurance. By fighting the good fight with integrity. By keeping the faith with persistence. By looking forward to receiving the crown of righteousness to all those who love His appearing.
Fear is one of the greatest tools satan uses to keep keep Christians defeated, complacent, controlled, stagnant, etc. When Goliath faced the Israelites, it was fear that kept them from victory...until David came along. David found is identity in God. He spent time with God. Fear had no hold on David. He trusted in God more than his circumstances. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and sound mind!
By the work on the Cross, Jesus settled racism once and for all. He tore down the dividing wall of hostility between races, grafting in all gentiles into the olive branch. We are all dependent in Christ and our identity rests in Him. Do not let things like "critical race theory" persuade you into false teachings and false ideologies. Satan wants to try to divide us and destroy us. Jesus Christ wants to unify us together as brothers and sisters in Him. That is why we proclaim the gospel to all mankind!
Aaron made a golden calf as a replacement for worshipping the one and true God. Many Christian's create a golden calf of religious traditions and progressive ideologies that replace God. Often, man has created a god in our own image and we worship that idol instead of the true God. God has been exposing false progressive Christianity and other false ideologies within the church. We must return to trusting and believing the Words of God and His commandments. What is your golden calf?
Today our society has been given over to doctrines of demons and deceiving spirits. These doctrines are taught through our education systems, entertainment, and media outlets. God has been revealing this deception now more than ever. It is our responsibility as Christians to stand up for the truth no matter what the cost! Be not deceived!
God has made His eternal power and divine nature clear to us by the creation of the earth and universe! How great is our God to create such a fine-tuned, irreducible complex universe. The same God who created all things is also mindful of us. Not just by sending Jesus to die for our sins, but He also cares about our needs, concerns, and struggles. Why would we put our identity in anything else except for God? Everything else is futile and fading away, but God is eternal and everlasting!
Where are you getting your identity from? What defines you? When we take a look at our social climate today, there are so many identity categories in place. As Christians, we are not identified by our past, by our mistakes, by our race or ethnic. We have a new identity in Christ. We are a new creation in Jesus. God displayed His love on the cross so that there can be one unification for all...Jesus Christ!

Resurrection Sunday is the most important event to our Christian faith and to the history of humanity. The Resurrection of Jesus gives us assurance of the deity of Jesus, of the resurrection of the dead, of the conquering of death and the grave, and of a new life in Christ! If Jesus didn't rise from the grave then our faith is useless!
Palm Sunday starts the Holy Week leading up to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. For the first time in His ministry the people of Jerusalem finally recognized the kingship of Jesus! This is was to fulfill prophecy written by Zachariah hundreds of years earlier. Shortly after that, Jesus wept over the city. As a hen who gathers her chicks under her wings, so the Lord sent prophets and King Jesus to them, but they ultimately rejected Him.
As Christians, we know of the importance and the power of prayer. Too often Christians become discourage and give up on prayer because our circumstance don't match our prayer request, or our prayers aren't answered within our timeline. Satan can often use this discouragement to keep Christians from being effective for God's kingdom. As we pray it is important to pray within God's will, to have endurance while we pray, and to have faith that God will answer our prayers. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man has power as its working!
Many different titles and descriptions have been given to Jesus throughout the Scripture, and the deity of Jesus is present in all of them. Peter obtained the revelation of Jesus' deity by the Holy Spirit. It is by Jesus that the church was founded, it is through Jesus that we obtain our healing, and It is by Jesus that man can be saved. Jesus is God in flesh who dwelt among us. "Who do you say that I am?"
Many times throughout Scripture we see numbers being used to convey meaning outside the numeric value of the actual number being used. This is often referred to as Biblical numerology. In the Bible, Jesus feeds five-thousand people with five loves and two fishes, which equals a total of seven items. The number seven often refers to "completion" or "fullness". After the people ate and were full, Jesus went on to describe Himself as the bread of life. Those who partake of Him will never hunger again! Jesus is the only one who can give us wholeness, fulfillment, and completion. It is by Him alone by where we can obtain eternal life!
"The Great Reset" is a term often used by politicians to describe a change that will take place in the future. Many times we hear about what will be "fixed" by politicians in our county, state, country, etc. but most of the time they are just empty words used to obtain votes with no real action taken to fix anything. Jesus made claims of His death and Resurrection and He fulfilled everything He said He was going to do, thus causing "The Greatest Reset Ever". Join us as we take a journey together exploring the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Jesus has established His church to make disciples and to expand His kingdom in earth. Within the church He has established leaders to help guide the flock, grow the flock, and to solidify the faith of Christians. To be planted in a biblical church is vital for our growth in Christ. Satan is prowling around like a lion, seeking whom he may destroy. We must be vigilant and properly equipped to fight off his temptations!
Suffering most often is viewed as a negative thing, and it is without Christ. As Christians, our suffering can ultimately bring glory to God. There are many who have suffered before us in similar ways. We are not alone. Just as a weightlifter needs a spotter, God has given us fellow Christians to help us through our sufferings. In many cases, the degree in which you suffer is related to how you handle the situation which caused you to suffer. It was once stated, "The Christian life is a banquet because God has invited us to the table of salvation, but it's not a picnic."
Many times in our lives, God allows suffering and despair caused by sin to bring us to a point of repentance. When we deny the leading of the Holy Spirit concerning the conviction of sin, it's only a matter of time that we will suffer the consequences of those sins. The results of those consequences should bear the fruit of no longer living in the sin of our flesh but to live for the will of God. God works all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose!
Throughout our lives many times we go through seasons of uncertainty, unrest, anxiety, or worry. There are many things we can do to calm us temporarily, but we can only find true peace in Jesus. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. God promises to give us a peace that surpasses all understanding that guards our hearts and minds. We need that kind of peace! Join us as Pastor Jim gives us four keys to help us find peace.
"Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way." Our words have power - they can produce death and life. We can tame nearly every animal on earth yet we cannot control our tongues. When a wrong is done to us it is our natural reaction to retaliate. In todays age of technology it is much easier to retaliate via the internet and social media. Our words matter so much to God that we will be judged for every idle word that we say. God tells us to bless those who persecute us, love our enemies, pray for those who have hurt you, and in doing so we will receive a blessing.
As our 21 days of prayer and fasting is coming to an end, we must not let up but press in more! What is the favor of God? We read about it in the Scriptures and we have heard it preached about, but how do we obtain God's favor? As Christians, we all have experienced an unconditional favor. We call that grace. "By grace we have been saved through faith." But what causes God to bestow His favor and honor upon us throughout our lives? How does this tie into prayer and fasting? As Christians, we are all familiar with the Lord's Prayer. "Your kingdom come, your will be done. On earth, as it is in heaven." God's will is always played out in heaven. His house, His rules. So how do we pray according to His will so that Heaven shows up on earth? There is an important connection with aligning to God's will, and see that will manifested on earth. Every year in January, Heritage Church starts off with 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Why should a Christian pray and fast? Fasting coupled with prayer is a powerful combination that enables us to grow in our faith, to obtain our breakthroughs, and to get clear answers to life's big decisions. The Bible says that when we humble ourselves, God will lift us up. When we deny our fleshly desires through fasting and come to Him in prayer, it shows humility and a desire to pursue a relation with Him! Join us and get ready for your breakthrough!
What makes Jesus an unconventional King? He was born out of wedlock, He was born into poverty, He was visited by outsiders at His birth, and He was born in a stable. A king is born from royalty, a king has the finest food and linens, and he has the best education. Why do we not see that standard of kingship displayed in Jesus life? This is what makes Him the unconventional King. Although He lived a lowly and humble life, He displayed His divine Kingship! He is the King of kings and Lord of lords and His kingdom endures forever!
The birth of Jesus not only changed the world because the savior of mankind came to earth in the flesh, but also the miracles surrounding His birth were unlike any event in history. The fulfillment of prophecies just surrounding Jesus' birth were near a mathematical impossibility. Many witnesses of baby Jesus also testified that the Savior of the world had come! Even today, we proclaim the birth of our Messiah!
Throughout chapter three, we see a common theme of submission. Honoring our spouses through submission directly reflects our heart towards God. God has established the household with Jesus as the head and the husband as the leader. The man carries the responsibility of leading his wife and children as he follows Christ. Men are to nurture and protect their wives as they would valuable treasure. As the man leads, nurtures, and protects, the wife will naturally honor and submit to the leading of the husband. Through submission and honor of the wife and protection and nurturing from the husband, we see a flourishing household as God intended.
Throughout our current times we continually hear that Christians should fully submit to whatever mandates the government enforces on it's people. Is this always true? Should we always submit to governing authorities no matter what? There is a way to honor governing rulers but also not submit to every mandate the government enforces. We are to obey God rather than men! There may come a time where Christians may disobey government in order to stay obedient to God. Paul and Silas were imprisoned for proclaiming the Gospel and upon release they were instructed to not preach the Gospel anymore. Immediately upon release they went to the streets and proclaimed the message of the Gospel!
Throughout the Scriptures we see Jesus metaphorically compared to a rock or stone. He came to His own people but they rejected Him. He was a stumbling stone, a rock of offense. Many of the religious Jews did not know what to do with Jesus. He shifted the paradigm of their religious establishments and exposed the corruptness of their hearts. Although they rejected Him, He was the chief cornerstone that laid the foundation for His people. Because His people rejected Him, they were cut off from Him allowing us Gentiles to be grafted into the the family of God.
Can we be good without God? Do we need God, the Bible, or Christianity to be good people? People can do good things in a humanism sense, but not a ultimate moral sense. Without God, morality is subjective and relative based on personal or cultural beliefs and there is no ultimate moral obligations to be held. Without an objective, universal, moral standard outside of ourselves; ones personal moral standard cannot be expected to be considered or respected by other persons. Find out why all people abide by objective morality wether they believe in God or not.
The 1st Epistle of Peter is an interactive letter to Christians who are dispersed due to persecution. Throughout the letter we see a constant theme of going "All In". Wether it's your walk with the Lord, marriage, facing trials, interacting with our culture, or working in ministry - Peter is telling us to go "All In" for the Lord.
God's grace sets us free from captivity, it removes the burden of guilt and shame, and it restores us back to the Father. God's grace is like fertilizer that continues our growth into the image of Christ. There are times where we cant stunt our own growth. We must humble ourselves before Him and confess our trespasses. "God resists the proud but gives GRACE to the humble." The key to growing in grace is humility! "If you humble yourselves before the Lord, He will lift you up."
Pastor Jim discusses the importance of grace in our Christian lives. God shows us grace on a daily basis. With that, we too should show our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ the same grace that God shows us. Each one of us are at different places in our relationship with the Lord. Each one of us stumbles in many different ways. Instead of tearing someone down with our words or casting them aside with our actions, we should reach out with grace and compassion and lift them back up! This is not an easy process, but an important one!
Should Christians be involved in politics? Should pastors preach about political events from the pulpit? Many believer that Christians should not do either. But can that claim be substantiated from Scripture? Throughout the Old Testament we see many men of God in governing places and in the King's courts being lights in the darkness. In the early history of our nation we see colonial clergy members influencing the American Revolution by the sermons they preached as well as taking up arms to fight for our freedoms. We can thank the active church for the freedoms that we have today!
Pastor Jim continues the series by discussing the difference between the rapture and the second coming of Christ. Many get confused about the rapture of God's people and the His second coming. These are entirely two different events that take place. Only the saved will be rapture with Jesus in the air. First, the dead and secondly those who are alive. The second coming of Jesus is the manifestation of His wrath. God declares that His people will not experience His wrath upon earth. That means, the rapture happens before His second coming. Pastor Jim discusses the very relevant topic of Biblical prophecy and how it applies to us today. With all of the current event happening in our country, God is setting the stage for the coming of His Son! The scripture warns us of: false teachers and prophets, a falling away of Christians, the love of many growing cold, a one world government, a one world currency, and a one world religion. Pastor Seth concludes the two part series entitled, "Know Your Enemy". This week we discuss the kingdom of darkness. There is a hierarchy to every kingdom and Satan's domain is no different. Demons are assigned to regions and take order according to the hierarchy. What is the enemies battle plan? How do they attack? What is demonic possession? Can a believer be demon possessed? All these questions are explained in this message!
We start a new series with the intentions of "knowing our enemy" better. Why would we want to do that? Every war general studies their enemy before going into battle. Every athletic team studies their opponent so they know how to better defeat them. The Bible says "Have sound judgment. Be alert. Your adversary, the Devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour." In this message, Pastor Seth discusses the origins of demons. Pastor Seth finishes the series as he teaches from the last chapter from the book of Hebrews. This chapter discusses many different points, such as: Loving your fellow Christian, showing love and hospitality towards strangers, the sanctity of marriage, the dangers of chasing after money, and much more!
Pastor Jim gives a special message concerning the importance of unifying together in the body of Christ. We must come together in symphony to work on building each other up in the Lord; helping Him put back together what has been broken. We must seek the Lord through prayer; repenting for our own personal sins, the sins of His church, and the sins of the government. We must position ourselves to advance the Kingdom of God.

Pastor Seth discusses how the roots of bitterness can poison our lives. Anytime a hurt or injustice is done towards us, a seed can be planted into our hearts. This week Pastor Seth discusses the importance of discipline in your household. Parental discipline can keep our children from harm or even death later on in their lives. We love our children and discipline should always be performed through love and never through anger. As parents our discipline will always be imperfect, but our Father in heaven is perfect in love which also equates to perfect in discipline. The Lord chastises those whom He loves. We should never resist the discipline of the Lord because His perfect discipline keeps us from further harm and will always yield the peaceable fruit of righteousness.

This week, Pastor Jim wraps up Hebrews chapter 11. He discusses how Moses's parents hid him as a child from the ordinances of Pharaoh who said to kill all baby boys. They knew their son was special and they couldn't violate their conscience despite what the governing authorities implemented. As Christians, we are to obey the ruling authorities over us. There can come a time where those ruling authorities violate God's Word and His moral standard. When we are faced with this decision, we are always to obey God over man. This isn't a rebellious action; this is an action of obedience towards God.
Pastor Seth discusses the unwavering faith of Abraham in this weeks sermon. In obedience, he went out to a foreign land promised to be inhabited by his offspring. He was promised as man offspring as the stars in the sky or sand on the sea shores. His name was changed to Abram (exalted father) to Abraham (father of many nations). The problem was, he had no children and his body was as good as dead. He was 75 years old when the promise was given to him and it took 25 years until that promise was fulfilled. How do we be faithful to God concerning a promise even though we may not see that promise fulfilled for years to come? Listen here to find out!
This week we discuss two prominent figures in the Scripture; Enoch and Noah. Both men had commonalities among them. Enoch pronounced judgements upon the Watchers because of their sins committed. Noah pronounced condemnation upon the offspring of the Watchers, the Nephilim, by proclaiming the coming judgement upon the earth and by faith, built the ark for the saving of his household. Both men are also described as having "walked with God". We please God by our faith and pursuit of our relationship with Him. God promises us that He "rewards those who diligently seek Him".
This week Pastor Jim discusses the importance of our faith as Christians. The faith that we have in God is not: an uncertain hope, blind faith, positive thinking, or Christian optimism. The faith that we have in Christ is a sure foundation of our beliefs that brings forth a living hope. The more we grow in our relationship with God, the more our faith increases and with that, the increase of our hope. God has been faithful to to fulfill His promises in our past, so we know He will be faithful to do it again!
The writer of Hebrews lays out numerous warnings to Christians throughout the book. Today we review the warning of apostasy. Apostasy means abandonment or renunciation of religious beliefs. One sign of apostasy is a life style of deliberate, unrepentant sinning. "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sin, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries." He who has an ear let him hear.
This week, Pastor Seth discusses in detail why God requires bloodshed for the forgiveness of sins. "Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." Why did things have to be this way? Why did God set up a system where only death can serve as atonement for sins? If God has all foreknowledge; then why did He create humans who sinned if He knew He would have to send His Son to die on the cross? Join us as all of these important questions are explained!
This week Pastor Jim explains the layout of the temple and the regulations of worship described in the Old Testament. When Jesus appeared as a high priest, He entered into the holy places once and for all! He did not make sacrifices of goats and bulls, but who through the eternal Spirit, offered Himself without blemish to God purifying our conscience from dead works to serve a living God!
Pastor Seth discusses how Jesus brings a "new and improved" covenant built on better promises. Jesus is our high priest who is seated at the right hand of God. That means, His work is finished! In the old covenant the law was written on tablets of stone, and now, the new covenant the law is written on our hearts.
In the Old Testament, God dwelt in the holy of holies only accessible by the high priest which was prevented by death from continuing in office. In the New Testament, we have a high priest- holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted by the heavens. Jesus, our high priest, has no need to offer daily sacrifices for His people since He did this "once and for all" when He offered Himself up as a sacrifice. This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant!

Pastor Seth and Pastor Jim tag team this weeks sermon on Pentecost Sunday! Pastor Seth starts off by showing the establishment fo the Biblical holidays in the Old Testament and how they were fulfilled in the New Testament leading up to Pentecost. Pastor Jim then discusses the significance of the day of Pentecost described in Acts chapter 2. It was the birth of the New Testament church and the fulfillment of Jesus' promise concerning the gift of the Holy Spirit to us believers!
Pastor Jim continues on with our two part series concerning these relevant times. We should have wisdom and discernment concerning this current pandemic, but as Christians we are also to be watchmen warning the people of threats and deception. We are to stand up against the deception that produces fear used by the enemy. Today we see this deception being propagated by media and news channels that can twist the truth to cause us to be mislead. In these trying times we are to stand on the rock of God's word and cast our care upon the Lord!
Pastor Jim discusses the importance of governing authorities in our lives. All government is established by God, but what happens when the government tries to surpass our conscious, faith, and beliefs? Do we continue to on obey the government or do we obey God's Word? In times of distress we need discernment on when to hold fast to God's Word despite the government's commands that may say otherwise. Listen to find out more of this relevant discussion.
Pastor Seth discusses the importance of having unwavering faith during trialing times. Abram was promised many children in his old age and despite his physical situation he did not waver in his faith. Abram believed that because God made a promise, He was fully able to fulfill it. We must learn the important truths of having unwavering faith. If God said it, He will fulfill it!
Continuing on through the book of Hebrews, Pastor Jim discusses the importance of moving forward in our faith. Once we have learned the basics principals of Christianity we must move forward and go beyond the basics. If we continue in our walk with the Lord, nothing can separate us from His love. God's love towards us is above our failures, our past, and our present fears. Perfect love casts out fear!
This week Pastor Seth continues on with our series through the book of Hebrews. He discuss how the writer of Hebrews lays out the qualifications of the High Priest and how Jesus fulfilled them all. Then, at the end of the chapter, the writer lays out another danger to the believers. The danger of growing dull of hearing do to not growing in the faith. God expects spiritual growth from us. If we stay in an immature state then we risk remaining in the flesh and being unable to discern from good and evil.
Pastor Seth discusses why our entire Christian faith hinges on the event of the resurrection. Paul said, "If Christ didn't rise from the dead then our preaching is useless and so is our faith." As Christians, we have good reasons to believe the resurrection of Jesus is a true event that changed the course of history. Get your note pads ready and join us as we discuss this historical event!
Join us as Pastor Seth discusses the significance of Palm Sunday. There was a purpose for Jesus entering in to Jerusalem at the time He did and in the way that He did. Jesus proclaimed His messiahship during His triumphal entry as people shouted "Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest"! Join us to find out more about this significant event.
The Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword! The Bible is the only divinely inspired and inerrant book in existence. It is the only book that, the more you read it the more it changes you into the image of Christ from the inside out. Pastor Jim also discusses how we can come to Jesus because He was tempted in every way we have been, yet did not sin. That means Jesus sympathizes with our weaknesses! We can come to Him boldly and without shame because He understands what we are going through.
Pastor Jim speaks a relative message concerning our current time. In the midst of our chaotic situation around us we can find rest assurance in our Creator. We must focus on Jesus despite the fear that tries to speak lies to us. God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind! God is greater than your situation. He can bring you through. In Him we can find rest!

Many times a hardened heart is willful rebellion towards God. We refuse to let God into our lives and would rather hold on to things that lead us astray. With this hardened heart we will never enter God's rest.
