The nature of the immaculate conception, Jesus conceived and born of a virgin, is in and of itself a miracle. It was prophesied by Isaiah 700 years before the birth of Jesus and was miraculously revealed to Mary and Joseph as it was about to happen. The necessity of the Immaculate Conception paves the way for our salvation. When Jesus died on the cross and resurrected 3 days later, He cleansed us of the sin we've inherited from our oldest ancestors- Adam and Eve, so that we may inherit eternal life. 

The implications of this are:

1. Jesus was conceived and born of the virgin is absolute truth and you can trust God in his word and in its entirety
2. Jesus IS God because of the Immaculate Conception
3. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead 3 days later, securing for us eternal life if we put all our hope and faith in Jesus.
