BE REALAuthenticity is a quality that demands vulnerability and truth.It requires a sober assessment of all you are in comparison to where/who you want to be.Yet, without it, we find ourselves muddled and lost in the ethereal fog of lies, deceptions, and fabrications.If we want to grow and be our true self, we must deal with the harsh reality that we are not yet our ideal.As previously stated on A Survey of Fatherhood II, I had the distinct pleasure of leading a group of middle school students in our local church.In this group we had rules, they knew by heart at the end of my brief time there.The First Rule Was: BE REALWhat does this mean?Simply put, they were reminded weekly to:1.Be real with God, because He already know where you are and can provide clarity on who you are supposed to be.2.Be real with yourself, because if you are unaware of who you are, how are to become all you can become. You need evidence and metrics from your life.3.Be real with others. Don’t waste time in concerning yourself with what others think, because they need someone who is real, raw, and honest with them to create a sense of trustworthiness and stability to perpetuate a higher standard and cultivation of self in their own lives and communities.“State the facts. Tell the truth.”The more we bring to the light who we truly are, the clearer the image of what we are now to what we could be steadily reveals itself.In your day, in your week, in your living, be brutally honest with God, with yourself, and with others. “Faith is the only path forward.” Know Thyself to become thyself.
