You shall not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14
Commit Adultery: “to corrupt, debase, or make impure.”
But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself. Proverbs 6:32
This is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Genesis 2:24
“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:4-5
God’s definition of marriage: One man and One woman, united together for life.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Ephesians 5:25
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:28
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. Colossians 3:5-6
Temptation often comes through a door that’s been deliberately left open.
Flee from sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18
The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. Matthew 6:22-23
I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman. Job 31:1
Resources for a Stronger Marriage & Recovery from Adultery
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
