Music by Blake Godbee released on May 5th, 2018. I'm a big fan of Blake Godbee's music. I've seen him perform with Saturnal Hex and Ghost Cup live, but I was most impressed by his solo noise set at a Noise Day 13 show that Pizza Hell hosted a few years ago at The Epicenter because I've never seen someone blend Harsh Noise with melodic samples like those on the albums "Person Pitch" by Panda Bear and "Merriweather Post Pavillion" by Animal Collective.
Blake's project and album "summermemorycenter" is a mix of instrumental dance pop and indie electronica. There's a definite krautrock vibe with these tracks, and the closest thing I can compare them to would be the album "Zuckerzeit" by Cluster, which is probably my favorite instrumental album of all time. Blake is absolutely one of my favorite musicians and producers right now, and I hope y'all take the time to check out his amazing tunes:
