The basic education department on Sunday said it was looking into the possibility of returning all pupils at primary school level to attend daily. The department said this may be on the cards in the second term due to the severe learning disruptions suffered as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The Council of Education Ministers is expected to discuss the matter this week. In the next half hour, Lukhona Mnguni is joined by Basil Manuel of NAPTOSA and Prof. Labby Ramrathan, President, South African Education Research Association and looks at the possible implications of full time teaching and whether it is the best time for the Department to do so.
