This podcast is where your inner work begins. Instead of telling you what to do and who to be, Inner Warmup puts you in the expert guest seat. Each week host Taylor Elyse Morrison interviews you. We'll reflect together on what it looks like to know, care for, and become your full self. This isn't self help. It's self discovery. Become your own expert with the Inner Warmup.

The end of the month is here which means it's time for another deep stretch. On this episode, Taylor talks about integration. She defines integrate as combining things together to make a whole - bringing things full circle. One of Taylor's core intentions of Q2 was to be a receiver and participant in life. As a facilitator, coach, founder, partner, friend...the list goes on...she finds herself pouring out to her communities, while reminding herself of the care she too deserves. Sound familiar?

As a child, you were probably introduced to the word growth as it pertains to height, shoe size, or hair length. It was just a measure of what's changed physically. But as an adult, the conversation about growth usually touches on wellbeing, unlearning behaviors or stepping into a new role. Your definition of growth may look and sound a bit different from others - and that's okay. Understanding what growth means to you is your homework for today. (Oooo that rhymed!) Ready to reflect? This month, Taylor and her husband, Matt, celebrate their 5 year wedding anniversary - happy anniversary to the beautiful couple!
On today's episode of Inner Warmup, we're going to be doing some reflecting, but you already knew that! This time we'll ask you to think about the last time you surprised yourself. What's changed about you, how have you adapted to your life's shifts? Taking time to learn yourself is a major part of self-care. Learning about your innate qualities, what makes you feel inspired, what drains your energy...having that true self-awareness is key. Some advice? Keep yourself on your toes. Try new things, say yes, tell them no, move across the country, start the blog. Just let life flow, see what happens. You just might surprise yourself.

June is coming to an end which means we're back with another Deep Stretch Episode. If you've been following the podcast, you know that a Deep Stretch is actually a look into what self-care has looked like for Taylor over the month. On this episode, we'll take a look back at the first half of the 2022. The end of June signifies a reset for many - it's a chance to gather data, reflect, and reassess your goals. Maya Angelou once said "Do the best you can until you know better. Inner Workout's definition of self-care is listening within and responding in the most loving way possible. Self-care is often discussed as something you do when you're already burned out and overwhelmed. A quick fix. Taking bubble baths, going on vacations, spending money on a new wardrobe...these are all great things to do for yourself. But what do you do when the bath is over, you've taken the trip and worn the clothes?
On this episode of Inner Warmup, we're talking about filling your life with care. Taking the time to sit with yourself and ask "how are you REALLY doing?" Doing the work to implement self-care into your daily life because you want to, not because you have to.

We're already back with another Deep Stretch episode. Can you believe March is over already? We're closing out the month with a conversation about urgency. You may have noticed, at the beginning of every Inner Warmup episode, Taylor addresses us as "expert guests".
What makes someone an expert? Is it a self-title? Is it a title that's given to you by the people who consider you to be an expert?
In this episode, we'll be talking about experts, but in the internal sense. As always, a deep reflection is on it's way. Let's find out who's a self-expert and what that looks like IRL. And if you're looking for a super cute, fun, and self-caring community, look no further.
The Inner Group Chat is launching next month (soft launch went so well last week!) - join us in the group chat where we'll be sharing our latest self-care favs, engaging with community, and growing together in the inner work. It's already a good time and we'd love to have you!

On this Deep Stretch episode of Inner Warmup, it's Taylor's turn to share what self-care and the inner work has been looking like in her personal life. Lately, Taylor has been exploring the intersectionality of love and honesty and it's definitely a conversation you'll want to take note of.
This conversation is in reference to a beautiful bell hooks' quote: “Choosing to be honest, is the first step in the process of love. There is no practitioner of love who deceives. Once the choice has been made to be honest, then the next step on love's path is communication.” Grab your journal and find a quiet space - get ready to reflect.

Having an individualist mindset just won't cut it in the world of self-care. It's okay to ask for help, it's okay to accept offers of assistance. Think about it this way, if you had the help you THINK you don't need, then what? What might you have more time or energy to do?
Don't forget, on January 15th, Taylor will be facilitating our Self-Care Support Masterclass, our first workshop of the year! We're so excited to start 2022 off with helping you to develop your very own self-care systems and practices. Join us!

As a planet and as individuals, we have endured a lot over the past 2 years. Thanksgiving is approaching quickly and there's a lot of talk around being grateful and thankful. The reality is, you may be feeling quite the opposite, but we want to reframe the concept of gratitude. "True gratitude isn't about ignoring the bad in our lives. Gratitude asks us to see the full picture."
Let's take a look at your full picture during this episode of Inner Workout.

In this episode, we're talking about the holidays you acknowledge, the days of the year that give you a reason to celebrate. We're closing out the month with a Deep Stretch episode. Taylor had the opportunity to lead a series of workshops for a dance company that were centered around body positivity and body neutrality. As it pertains to self care, these two things are not only necessary but also require a reflection of nuance.
What works for some may not work for others, maybe body positivity is taking a front seat at this point in your life and neutrality comes up at a different time. Remind yourself that loving responses are necessary during these conversations with yourself and others. As you listen to this episode, take time to reflect, pause if you need to, and give yourself permission to explore nuance you may be ignoring regarding your self care.

Adrienne Maree Brown said "there is no way to repress pleasure, and expect liberation, satisfaction or joy." That means, we must understand what feels good to us in order to fully experience the pleasure, liberation, satisfaction, and joy that we all deserve. Many of us were taught to feel with our minds, not our bodies. Yet our bodies give us signals, our bodies tell a story about what is pleasurable, what feels good. So, the question on the table is what feels good in your body?
