What is a generation?  Is the definition fair and correct?  Demographers define generations as a grouping up to 30 years, but that time period waffles some when looking at Generation Y and others.  What changes during generational periods cause habits and birth rate changes?

Are the definitions fair?  When people look at their own definition, do you have similar things in common with your generation?  Should there be a different time period studied and reviewed?
