Welcome to The Words Liberate. In our 12th talk, we discuss the moral and ethical messages buried within the mythological story of Bacchus. The use of mythologies for self-development is nothing new. Francis Bacon (1561-1626), Lord Chancellor of England, a philosopher, statement, creator of the scientific method, wrote extensively on mythologies. He too was ravished with the wisdom of antiquity and it is from some of his writings along with other 19th & 20th century writers like George Bulfinch, Manly Hall, & Jospeh Campbell, that we learn that mythologies are filled with ethical and moral messages. Since The Words Liberate is dedicated to the practice of self-development which is an ethical system and because these topics begin in the ancient past, we travel to the times long ago in order to acquire the knowledge we need. We hope our findings can aid the listener in understanding a little bit more about self-development.  Gratias tibi Ago!
