“Love One Another” Text: John 15:12-17

Point #1 – Christ’s Love is Our _______ (vv. 12-13)

John 15:12-13 - This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Romans 5:8 - …but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Point #2 – Love is Not _________(v. 14)

John 15:14 - You are my friends if you do what I command you.

1 John 4:20 - If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

1 John 3:14-15 - We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Point #3 - Christ has chosen you to ________ (vv.15-17)

John 15: 15-17 - but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
