Australia is probably not the first country that comes to mind when you think about inventions. You are more likely to think about sun-drenched beaches, putting another shrimp on the barbie and laid back larrikin types. Actually, I'm not sure what the current world perception is of Australia and Australians...but it is probably not that of a nation of great inventors.
