About Our Guest:

Mykola was born in Ukraine, and moved with his family to Toronto in 2002. Prior to moving to Canada, he had begun studying to become a mechanical engineer at his hometown university. After arriving in Toronto, he worked on a construction site with a Ukrainian plumber until 2004, when he was accepted to George Brown College to study Construction Engineering Technology.

During his second year at George Brown, he took a construction cost estimation class led by Clint Kissoon, who encouraged all students to join CIQS. The class inspired Mykola to join the Institute as a student in 2006, and he achieved his PQS designation in 2014.

His first job after graduating from George Brown was as a Junior Estimator with a family-owned design-builder firm in Barrie, Ontario. Since those early days, he has worked with firms like AECOM, AMEC, Turner & Townsend and Faithful + Gould, before finding a home with EllisDon where he was part of the team that worked on the Toronto-York-Spadina Subway Extension, Maple Leaf Foods Processing Facility, and the Darlington Nuclear Power Plan Refurbishment.

Currently, Mykola is the Prime Contract Director for the EllisDon Saguenay, Quebec office.
